Explore the San Francisco Airport or City: Upon arrival at SFO, take advantage of the airport’s diverse shopping and dining options. Explore local boutiques, enjoy a relaxing meal or pick up some last-minute souvenirs. Alternatively, if time allows venture into San Francisco for some shopping or a quick exploration of the city. Discover iconic landmarks or stroll through popular neighborhoods, making the most of your remaining time before your flight.

Need to know

  • Sonoma County Pass: Save on tasting costs with the Sonoma County Pass, which offers complimentary tastings at many participating wineries and tasting rooms with the purchase of the pass. With average tasting costs ranging from $25 to $30, a two-day pass provides excellent value.

  • Reservation Requirements: Many tasting rooms and wineries require advance reservations. Be sure to book your tastings ahead of time to secure your spots and avoid any disappointments.

  • Wine Transport: Some airlines offer free wine case checks to see if the wine is properly packaged. Alternatively, consider using wine travel bags, which are designed to safely transport bottles in checked luggage.

  • Proximity of Destinations: Most destinations on this itinerary are within 20 minutes of Sonoma, with the exception of Bodega Bay. This proximity allows for a luxurious experience at a single hotel without the hassle of checking in and out repeatedly.
