The Caribbean is full of incredible islands, but the British Virgin Islands are at the very top of the list, thanks to their dramatic tropical coastlines, crystal blue water and luxe resorts. It's the ideal spot for a honeymoon with a good mix of relaxation and activity.

Things to do in the British Virgin Islands

A sandy beach with various lounge chairs, palm trees and lanterns in the distance. There is also a gorgeous orange sunset.

The idyllic British Virgin Islands are best suited for sailing, snorkeling and soaking up the sun. You will find no shortage of white sand, lush green mountains and rum in the British Virgin Islands.

Spend your time relaxing at the luxurious Rosewood Little Dix Bay resort, where you can walk out into the ocean and swim with turtles, play tennis or enjoy a cold beverage on the beach.

At Rosewood, you can rent a jeep for the day and explore the island. Stop at Hog Heaven for a drink and panoramic views of Moskito Island and Necker Island. Head south and hike down to the Baths, one of the most popular attractions in the British Virgin Islands. The Baths are caves that form an amazing array of cavernous passages on the shoreline of Virgin Gorda.

Hire a boat for the day to take you snorkeling the Indians, stop at Willy T's (be sure to jump off the top!) and end with a rum cocktail at Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke.

Make sure to include a spa treatment or two while at Rosewood Little Dix Bay. Their spa is incredible and gives you access to a private pool overlooking the ocean.

End your day with a drink at the Rum Room at Rosewood Little Dix Bay as you watch the sunset.

Places to eat & drink in the British Virgin Islands

An outdoor bar with alcohol on a shelf, wood paneled ceilings and a view of the mountains and palm trees in the distance.

CocoMaya Restaurant: A dinner on the beach, amazing seafood and live music.

Sugar Mill Restaurant: Beachfront dining at the Rosewood Little Dix Bay hotel

Reef House: Farm-to-table dining at the Rosewood Little Dix Bay hotel.

Soggy Dollar Bar: A world-famous bar on Jost Van Dyke. Pull up a chair and grab a painkiller (their famous rum drink).

Willy T's: A floating bar and restaurant. Have your captain stop here to grab lunch while you sail around the British Virgin Islands.

Need to know

The British Virgin Islands (BVIs) are primarily made up of four larger islands – Tortola, Anegada, Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke. They lie just east of St. Thomas and St. John. The easiest way to get to the BVI is by flying into Tortola (usually with a layover in Miami).
