Curator’s statement

Iceland has it all. It's one of those destinations that will make you feel like you've accidentally stepped into another planet and didn't hate it; in fact, you'll probably want to do it again. A diverse region, it has Volcanoes, Waterfalls, Ice Lagoons, Hot Springs, Geysers, Beaches, Caves, Hiking trails, and beautiful scenery, not to mention - the northern lights.

Where to stay

Unlock perks by contacting Andrea to book your trip.

Day 1

A man and woman in front of a waterfall.

Day 1: Golden Circle

  • Land in Keflavík Airport (KEF)

  • Go straight to the Blue Lagoon (20 mins from the airport). Reservation required.

  • Hit the hot spots of the Golden Circle:

  • Thingvellir National Park, Geysir geothermal area (Strokkur Geyser), Gullfoss waterfall, and Kerið crater

  • Stay in Reykjavík. I recommend The Reykjavic Edition (high budget), The 101 Hotel (medium budget), or the Hotel Reykjavic (local chain).

Day 2

A woman sitting on a green hill.

Day 2: South Coast

  • Visit the waterfalls along the ring road

  • Seljalandsfoss & Gljúfrabúi

  • Skógafoss: I'd recommend hiking it and checking off 5-6 waterfalls

  • Drive up to viewpoint at Dyrhólaey

  • Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach

  • Stay at a hotel off Ring Road

Day 3

A woman in helmet in front of a cave.

Day 3: South East Coast

Day 4

A glacier and lake during daytime.

Day 4: South East Coast II

  • Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon

  • See by foot, boat, or even kayak (tours available)

  • Diamond Beach - across the street from lagoon

  • Head back and stay in Reykjavic

Day 5

Aerial view of city and a pool.

Day 5: Reykjavic

  • Explore Reykjavic (the Capital)

  • Check out a pool or Sky Lagoon (5/5)

  • Head to airport

Additional Days

A bird on a rocky ledge on an island.

There are so many choices of things to do and tours to join in Iceland.

Top 2 additions to add in additional days:

  • The Westman Islands

  • The Snæfellsnes Peninsula

  • Ask about active volcanoes in the area; if you're lucky to catch one, you may be able to see it up close!
