Day 1: Stepping into Danish royalty

Start with a day trip to the legendary Kronborg Castle in Helsingør, just an hour by train from Copenhagen. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous as Elsinore in Hamlet, is a stunning example of Danish Renaissance architecture. Wander through the grand halls, admire the intricate decor and take in sweeping sea views.
In the afternoon, head back to Copenhagen for a visit to Rosenborg Castle. While here, be sure to visit the room covered in beautiful blue tiles — a unique and memorable spot. The castle holds Denmark's crown jewels and is surrounded by the lovely King's Garden.

Day 2: Royal splendor and modern art

Today, journey north to explore a blend of historic charm and modern creativity.
Frederiksborg Castle: Known as the “Versailles of the North,” this breathtaking Renaissance castle in Hillerød is a must-see. Explore lavish rooms, the exquisite chapel and beautiful gardens. Stop in their quaint cafe in the garden for lunch.
Louisiana Museum of Modern Art: Nestled along the Øresund Sound, the Louisiana Museum showcases works by artists like Picasso and Warhol. The outdoor sculpture garden, overlooking the water, is the perfect place for a rest. Make sure to explore the gift shop for some unique finds.

Day 3: Viking history and Danish heritage

Head west from Copenhagen to Roskilde, a city rich in Viking history and royal heritage.

ARoS Aarhus Art Museum: Don’t miss the rainbow panorama walkway that crowns this museum, offering unique city views through every color of the rainbow (so cool!). The art collections here range from contemporary to classic.
Old Town Museum (Den Gamle By): Wander through the open-air exhibits showcasing Danish life from the 16th century to the present day. Fun for any age, and even dogs are allowed!

Day 6: Art and culture

Spend a second day in Aarhus, diving deeper into its artistic scene and exploring hidden corners.

Day 7: Farewell in Copenhagen

Wrap up your Danish adventure back in Copenhagen with a few last highlights.
