Curator’s statement
Paris is, as of July 2023, my new home! I am in love with this beautiful city and all of its incredible food. While I've traveled to Paris in the past, living here as an expat, now gives me a unique perspective. I'm not a native, but I'm also not a tourist--and as a local, I can give you an insider's peek as to what's worth it, what's not, and some hidden gems to give you a Paris trip you'll never forget!

Day 1: Places to Eat & Shop
On your first full day in Paris, I recommend waking up early and heading to Bo & Mie near the Louvre for a coffee and a pastry (pain au chocolat is my favorite). The Louvre gets crowded quickly, so getting an early start is key! If you can be there by 9am, you're going to have a completely different experience than if you go with huge crowds. If you can't get tickets for the Louvre this day, go to the Opera Palais Garnier instead. You'll feel like you just stepped inside a mini-Versailles with all the gold and marble. It's truly breathtaking.
Next, head over to Galeries Lafayette. You can sneak in some quick shopping, but don't leave without heading all the way up to the roof for a 360 view of Paris! There's even a bar/cafe up there if you'd like to stay a while. On your walk to lunch, stop by Le Brebant for a spritz, and enjoy the very Instagrammable backdrop of the restaurant's decor.
For lunch, head to Brasserie Dubillot, and make sure someone at the table orders the steak frites! Take a quick rest and regroup at your hotel before heading out for a pre-dinner glass of wine at Septime la Cave, followed by dinner at Le Chardenoux or Jones. If the girls are ready to keep the night going, head a few streets over to Rue de Lappe--commonly known as a "Rue de Soif" ("street of thirst") with bar after bar lining the whole pedestrian street.
Day 2: Montmartre
Day two is all about Montmartre, the 18th arrondissement of Paris and the neighborhood known for its artistic history. Grab breakfast at Lactem Cafe--you'll need more than a pastry to fuel your walk around Montmartre, which can be quite hilly! From there, take the funicular up to La Basilique du Sacré Coeur, and be sure to sit on the steps and take in the most expansive view of all of Paris! Afterward, walk around the church to the left, and meander through the streets filled with sidewalk cafes, artists selling their work, and the iconic La Maison Rose (stop for a refreshing spritz if you're feeling thirsty!).
Take an afternoon break at the hotel, before heading out to the viral Pink Mamma for dinner, followed by pre-show drinks at Bar a Bulles--a hidden bar behind the iconic Moulin Rouge. Grab tickets to a Moulin Rouge show (it is worth every penny!), and if you don't want the night to end after the show, head to any of the nearby bars or nightclubs...this neighborhood is known for them!
Day 3: Rive Gauche
For day 3, you're heading to "Rive Gauche," the Left Bank of Paris, and home to one of the oldest districts in the city. Have brunch at Patrol--get the benedict Norwegian (I dream of this dish often), followed by a walk through the Jardin du Luxembourg. This park is huge, with several distinct areas to sit, picnic, and/or do some people watching. Walk from the park, northeast, to see Notre Dame in all her glory. You'll pass by the iconic Shakespeare and Company bookstore/cafe on your way. Grab lunch on Île de la Cité at Au Vieux Paris, a hidden gem and classic French bistro.
Next, load up on picnic supplies (wine, cheese, charcuterie, baguettes, fruit, etc) at a local market, then hop on the metro and head to Champ de Mars to do what the French do best.... picnic in the park! Only this time, you'll be doing so at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. Take your time here, snap some photos, kick your shoes off, and soak it in--this is truly a Parisian pastime you're indulging in!
Finish your evening of day three with a fancy girls' dinner at MŪN. Try to grab a reservation that will have you there after the sun's gone down. Why? You'll have a spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower doing her nightly sparkle show from your table on the rooftop terrace! And, once it gets late enough at the restaurant, they turn up the music and the whole vibe changes. Dance and drink the night away!
Day 4: Hidden Gems
On your final full day, you'll enjoy all the local, hidden gems that TikTok isn't talking about! Start your morning with breakfast at Kafkaf, followed by a walk down Rue Crémieux--a small street lined with different colored houses. Snap some IG-worthy pics of each other before walking to the flea market at Marché Bastille (open Thursdays and Sundays). Paris flea markets are known for vintage, designer finds, so see what treasures you can find! Have some lunch at Le Petit Marché, followed by a walk over to Place des Vosges--arguably one of the most stunning parks in Paris. If you're craving that viral hot chocolate, Carette is right there at the park, so you can get your fix.
Enjoy "apero" (the sacred French time of day between work and dinner) at Oplato, a charcuterie board bar! Step across the street to Louie Louie for some incredible wood-fired pizza--someone order the Spicy Honey! Alternatively, you can pick up some baguette sandwiches from any of the numerous boulangeries in every neighborhood. Because, at the end of your Paris girls' trip, you're having one final EPIC picnic.
Grab some wine (a few extras for this picnic) and snacks and take the Metro to the Trocadero stop. Walk through the Trocadero Gardens, cross Avenue de New York, and when you see the Cavalier Grec monument, look to its right for some hidden stairs that take you down to the bank of the Seine River. Walk down to the bank, choose a spot, spread out some blankets/towels, and set up shop. To end your girls' trip with a bang, you'll watch one final sparkle show, up close and personal, right at the base of the Eiffel Tower. Congratulations, you've just made a core memory (it's certainly one of mine)!!!
