Day 1: Explore Bali
Get out and explore all of the best sights in Ubud, Bali. Begin your day exploring Tegallalang Rice Terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage site showcasing the beauty of traditional Balinese agriculture. Wander through the narrow paths between the rice paddies, capturing breathtaking photos of the verdant landscape. Continue your adventure by visiting Gunung Kawi Sebatu Temple, a serene water temple surrounded by lush gardens.
Then, indulge in a traditional Balinese lunch at a local warung. Enjoy local specialties like Babi Guling while soaking in the picturesque views of the terraced landscapes.
Finally, end your day at Tirta Empul Temple, a sacred water temple near Tampak Siring. Bring your bathing suit and participate in the purification rituals or explore the intricately carved shrines.
Wind down your day by enjoying the ambiance of Ubud, perhaps exploring vibrant night markets or indulging in a spa session to rejuvenate before another day of exploration on this enchanting island.
Day 2: Experience the Magical Mount Batur
On your second day, trek to the incredible Mount Batur at sunrise. This was my favorite thing that we did the entire trip!
Your day will start early, getting picked up a couple of hours before the sunrises. Then, you'll head to the milder mountain climate to begin the two-hour trek to Mount Batur, rising 5600 feet above sea level. This volcano is still active, but it has not erupted since 1994.
At the top, take in magnificent panoramic views over the crater below, the volcanoes in the distance and the island of Bali. At the top, your guide will give you a coffee and a nutritious breakfast as you watch the sun rise over the landscape.
After your trek, you can soak in the hot springs near Mount Batur. These rejuvenating hot springs will help you decompress and relax after a tough climb.
Day 3: Cook Indonesian Food
Discover the unique appeal of Balinese cuisine while participating in a hands-on cooking class. You'll learn all about Balinese food and the local ingredients. This is a great way to get acquainted with the area!
The day begins with an early morning visit to a local market where you’ll purchase the ingredients needed for the class. Then, you'll visit a local home before continuing on to cook in an open-air kitchen. Your instructor will help you prepare the local cuisine and then you'll enjoy the meal surrounded by rice paddies.
After your class, I recommend visiting the Monkey Forest in Ubud to see these cute creatures. Just be careful, because they will lunge at you if you stare at them too long!
Enjoy relaxing by the pool and end your night getting a unique meal at Room4Dessert, where you'll have one of the most delicious dinners you can get!
Day 4: Travel to the Komodo Islands
Travel off the island of Bali to the incredible island of Flores to see the wonders of the Komodo Islands. Stay at the Ayana Resort, where all of the tours around the island are included.
Take a fantastic sunset boat ride to see the bats fly out of the mangroves at sunset. This incredible sight is a wonder to behold as thousands of bats fly overhead! It's one of the coolest things you'll ever experience.
Day 5: The Incredible Komodo Islands
Spend the next day visiting the wonders of the Komodo Islands. Take a boat tour from the hotel to experience the highlights.
Start your journey trekking up to Padar Island to get panoramic views over bright blue waters. It's one of the most beautiful sights that I have ever seen. The hike is steep but short, and it has a wonderful payoff!
Then, meet the most fearsome and largest land reptile in the world- the Komodo Dragon. Follow along as a guide takes you around Komodo Island and you get the chance to see these incredible creatures in the wild! Stand behind the guides and take photos of these wild beasts.
Finally, end your tour on the vibrant Pink Beach! Snorkel in the blue water surrounding the beach and then walk along and marvel at the bright pink sand. It's the perfect day to explore for your romantic honeymoon!
Day 6: Fly to Lombok
Spend the day traveling to the beautiful island of Lombok and then enjoy relaxing by the pool or the beach at your Honeymoon hotel.
Day 7: Experience the Gili Islands
Take a private tour and experience the diverse sea life of the Gili Islands.
Gili Air, Gili Meno and Gili Trawangan are each home to superb clear water, coral reefs and brilliantly colored fish. On the way to the islands, you can see beautiful panoramic views of Sire Beach and the Rinjani mountain range. The islands have become popular for sun-bathing, snorkeling, diving and socializing.
Stop at the three islands to discover the beauty of the islands, get underwater and swim by the fish, or spend a day relaxing by the beach bars. It's the perfect end to your honeymoon trip! You'll surely fall in love with Indonesia.
