Things to do in Phuket

1. Visit an ethical elephant sanctuary:
Experience the joy of interacting with rescued elephants in a responsible, cruelty-free environment at an ethical elephant sanctuary. Learn about their stories, feed them and even bathe them in the river. Travel tip: Book in advance, as ethical sanctuaries often have limited slots to ensure personal experiences.
2. Visit crystal-clear beaches
Relax on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world such as Patong Beach, Karon Beach, Freedom Beach and more. Enjoy swimming, sunbathing or exploring the vibrant marine life while surrounded by stunning natural beauty. Travel tip: Freedom Beach is less crowded, but you’ll need to hike or take a boat to reach it, so be prepared for a bit of adventure!
3. Day trips
Take a boat trip to iconic islands like Phi Phi Island or Maya Bay where you can snorkel and see breathtaking views, or experience thrilling ATV rides, ziplining and visit the famous Big Buddha viewpoint for amazing panoramic views of Phuket. Travel tip: For a quieter experience, try visiting Phi Phi Island early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the crowds especially during peak season Nov-April.
4. Enjoy local cuisine
Dive into Phuket’s rich culinary scene by joining a food tour or taking a cooking class. Taste local delicacies like pad thai, fresh seafood and mango sticky rice (my favorite) while learning to cook Thai dishes yourself. Travel tip: Choose a cooking class that takes you to a local market to pick fresh ingredients for a truly immersive experience.
5. Get a traditional Thai massage:
Indulge in a rejuvenating traditional Thai massage that uses gentle stretching and acupressure techniques to relieve stress and tension. Travel tip: Head to a reputable spa or wellness center for the most authentic experience, and DON’T hesitate to ask for a lighter or stronger pressure depending on your preference.
6. Explore Thailand’s picture-perfect cafes
Thailand boasts beautiful, unique cafes like Hidden Cafe Phuket, where you can sip coffee while surrounded by lush greenery and stunning views. Alternatively, relax in a treehouse-style cafe with A Blanket & Pillow while enjoying a panoramic view of the beach. Travel tip: For the most serene experience, visit during the early morning or late afternoon when the light is perfect for photos.
Places to eat & drink in Phuket

The Coffee Club (Kata Beach): Known for its hearty breakfast options, try their eggs benedict or avocado toast paired with a freshly brewed coffee.
Natural Restaurant (Phuket Town): Set in a lush, green setting, this spot offers traditional Thai food in a serene environment. Perfect lunchtime spot. Don’t miss their shrimp cakes or green papaya salad. *They have vegan options!
Phuket Old Town (Walking Street): Sample a variety of local snacks, from savory steamed buns to crispy spring rolls, available at the food stalls during the weekend market.
On The Rock (Karon Beach): Nestled along the rocky shoreline, this restaurant offers a romantic dining experience with fresh seafood and traditional Thai dishes. The stunning sunset views make it a perfect spot for a special evening dinner.
Roxane Cafe & Restaurant Phuket: Before leaving Thailand you must try mango sticky rice. A cozy spot where you can enjoy a beautifully presented mango sticky rice while taking in a stunning view of the beach, combining great flavors with a serene coastal ambiance.
