Curator’s statement

New York City will always be my favorite city! I grew up in NYC, and still live here, so I might be a bit biased, but there's a reason this city is so popular! There is so much history, culture and community to discover. Its diversity brings together a unique, almost surreal atmosphere. NYC is the place where everything happens, all at once! Whether you’re into the arts, history, sports, whatever it is, you will find something to enjoy here!

Day 1: Check in, start exploring & dinner

If you arrive in NYC around 1:00pm-3:00pm, I’d first check in to your hotel and get settled. I highly suggest the Roxy Hotel in Tribeca. Once you’re all ready to go, explore the surrounding neighborhood, maybe check out the riverside. For dinner, I recommend Añejo, a delicious Mexican restaurant, with an amazing tequila flight that I highly recommend. It’s located right across the street from the Roxy Hotel.

Day 2: Shopping in Soho, Washington Square Park & West Village

Start your day by heading to Soho, walk around the area and check out some stores. This is your time to do any shopping you were planning. I recommend heading there earlier, as it gets quite busy. For lunch, I recommend Pasquale Jones in Soho. Once you’re done, walk over to Washington Square Park to see one of NYC’s most iconic parks and the iconic arch. Explore the neighborhood, taking in the beauty of the West Village, it’s such a cute neighborhood. For dinner, I recommend The Spaniard on West 4th St, a super cute Spanish restaurant with authentic tapas and drinks.

Day 3: Plaza Hotel & museums

Take the 6 train to the Upper East Side, get off at 50th St. and walk over to the historic Plaza Hotel, it’s definitely a sight to see, inside and out! The ground floor is open to the public, with a cute cafe and some shops. After, walk uptown, along the park, to The Met, on 86th. Explore this gorgeous museum, with its amazing collections and interior. Definitely go to the rooftop for some amazing views of the city and park.
Once finished at The Met, walk across the park to the west side, and check out the Museum of Natural History. After, walk down to Lincoln Center, on 65th. I recommend trying to get tickets to some sort of show here, whether it be the opera, ballet or something else. For dinner, I recommend the historic Tavern on the Green, located inside the park, or Rosa Mexicano, an amazing Mexican restaurant right across from Lincoln Center.

Day 4: Brooklyn Bridge, river views & financial district

Start your day walking over the Brooklyn Bridge, the views of the city are absolutely breathtaking! Once you've made it to the other side, you’ll be in Dumbo, Brooklyn. Head down to the water to walk along the waterfront park, for a relaxing stroll, taking in the stellar views of the city. For lunch, I recommend going to the Time Out Market or Henry’s End, both located along the waterfront.

Walk until you find the Ferry terminal, take the Ferry back to Manhattan from the Dumbo/Fulton Ferry Terminal to Pier 11/Wall St. Ferry Terminal. Once back in Manhattan, you’ll be in the financial district. Explore the area, look out for the stock exchange and bull statue! For dinner, I recommend walking down Stone Street, which is a cute, small, closed off street with many restaurants to choose from. It’s located less than five minutes away from the ferry terminal.

Day 5: More shopping, sightseeing & a helicopter ride

In the morning, head over to Herald Square for some shopping, make sure you don’t miss NYC’s iconic Macy’s. Here you can visit the Empire State Building and the observatory there. Afterwards, walk about 10 minutes uptown to Bryant Park, make sure to check out the historic New York Public Library.

Grab some lunch around there, then walk over to Rockefeller Center to see the iconic NYC landmark. Afterwards, I suggest checking out the MOMA, to admire some modern art.

Once finished at the MOMA, either walk or take the 7 train from Bryant Park, over to the Hudson Yards Station. Head over to West 30th St. Heliport, for your helicopter ride with BLADE. For dinner, I recommend going to Bar Primi, an amazing Italian restaurant about 10 minutes from the helicopter port.

Day 6: Hudson Yards, museums & Shake Shack

In the morning, head over to Hudson Yards, admire The Vessel and explore the shops and area. I highly recommend getting tickets to The Edge, it’s one of the best observatory spots in the city! For lunch, I recommend Bondst, an amazing and diverse Japanese-inspired restaurant, located on level 5 of Hudson Yards building.
Since you’re close by, I’d suggest stopping by the Intrepid Museum, which is a really interesting and unique New York staple, all about water and aerial transportation. After, walk over to Times Square, take in the wonder, and check out shops and attractions. Some of my favorite things to do in Times Square would be Madame Tussauds, the M&M Store, and Dave & Busters. I also highly recommend seeing a broadway show here if you can! (But, make sure you book it in advance!) For dinner, I recommend trying Shake Shack if you haven’t yet. It’s a must try when on the east coast!

Day 7: The Highline, Whitney Museum, Little Island & World Trad Center

Head to the Highline in the morning, I recommend entering at 23rd or 24th Street and walking down to 14th Street. When you reach the end of the Highline (just past 14th St.), walk down the stairs and to your right you will see the Whitney Museum. After the Whitney, head over to Chelsea Market and have some lunch, where you have various options to choose from.

After lunch, walk over to the waterfront where you will see Little Island. Once done exploring the Little Island, walk downtown on the waterfront for about 15/20 minutes. You’ll reach Tribeca, and see the World Trade Center. Head there for a 9/11 memorial site tour. After, have dinner at 1803 NYC, a New Orleans themed restaurant serving Spanish/French/Cajun food, located less than 10 minutes away from the World Trade Center.
