Located only 40 minutes outside of Salt Lake City, Park City was host to the outdoor events of the 2002 Winter Olympics and is set to host the Winter Olympics again in 2034. This infrastructure provides visitors with plenty of options for outdoor winter sports, hotels and food options. Whether you are looking for a vacation packed with activity, or full of rest and relaxation, Park City is the perfect winter getaway.

Things to do in Park City, Utah

  • Park City Ski Resort - With over 43,000 acres of ski trails, there is something for every skill level of skiing and snowboarding here. Be sure to visit in February, when Park City tends to get the most snowfall. Use your Epic Pass for access to the mountain.

  • Deer Valley Ski Resort - This ski-only area is located just down the road from Park City Ski Resort. This less crowded resort provides for a whole day of skiing with short lines. Access Deer Valley with an Icon Pass or Deer Valley Pass.

  • Sundance Film Festival- At the end of January, come to Park City to see the latest in Independent and Hollywood films.

  • Historic Main Street- The original Main Street of Park City offers plenty of history, shopping and dining.

  • Cross Country Skiing- Park City offers 3 different locations for cross-country skiing at the White Pine Nordic Center, Basin Recreation, or Round Valley.

  • Dog Sledding- Have adorable huskies lead you through the trails around Park City.

  • Snowmobiling- Access some of the best views of the Wasatch Mountains on a snowmobile tour.

  • Spas- Enjoy a relaxing day at the spa, with two of the top spas in Park City, located in the Deer Valley complex at the Spa Montage Deer Valley or The Spa at St. Regis.

  • Utah Olympic Park- This year-round complex offers the Alf Ski Museum, an alpine slide, zip line, a bobsled track and Nordic Ski jump. Not only does the Utah Olympic Park host visitors, but is also home to training for the next generation of Olympic athletes.

Day trip

Only 40 minutes from Park City, Salt Lake City is the perfect place for a full day of activity for a break from Mountain activities. You can visit the Clark Planetarium, taking in the breathtaking Temple Square, research you family history at Family Search or take in a Utah Jazz game while in the city.

  • Butcher’s Chop House- This high end steakhouse serves prime cut steaks with an extensive wine list

  • No Name Saloon- Pub grub with a full beer and whisky list in this cozy setting.
    Downstairs- be ready to bust out your best dance moves at this modern club with DJs and a full cocktail bar

Need to know

Deer Valley limits the number of visitors each day. This requires daily reservations for each day you desire to ski there, even with an Icon Pass. It is also advised that daily tickets or multiday passes be bought before arriving.
