Things to do in Sicily
TOURS
Visit the ancient churches in Palermo: The Cathedral of Palermo is one of many and is gilded in gold. Tip: Hire a tour guide so you get a true feeling and history of the churches you visit.
Tour the Greek ruins in Agrigento (Valle De Templi): A tour guide can help you learn about the amazing Greek history in Sicily. Tip: Did you know you can rent it out before hours or at sunset for something really special like a proposal?!
Do a vintage fiat tour in Palermo: This is fun, fun, fun and can be arranged by your Fora Advisor.
Don't miss a walking tour in Taormina and a visit to the ruins (Teatro Antico di Taormina)
Visit a farmhouse in Agrigento and take a couples' cooking class.
Go to an opera at Teatro Massimo in Palermo.
VISIT
If you are staying in Agrigento or Sciacca, a visit to the ancient village at the top of a mountain is a must. Sant Angelo Muxaro will definitely be a highlight of your trip.
There are no restaurants here. Instead, you have apertif, meals and dessert with the beautiful residents of this town. They invite you into their kitchens and patios as they beam with pride about the amazing food they prepared.
If golf is your couple's thing, then spend a day at Rocco Forte Verdura! They have two 18-hole courses and a 9-hole course, and it is on the ocean.
Day Trip
A day trip to Noto is a must. This romantic, baroque city oozes "White Lotus" vibes. Remember that episode?
Hire a car service to take you to vineyards in Noto for a wine experience.
Book an Etna 4x4 tour that culminates at a beautiful vineyard in Etna for a delicious lunch and wine tasting.
Take a sunset cruise and enjoy the Taormina coastline with Prosecco in hand.
Places to eat & drink in Sicily
San Domenico Palace: Perfect, romantic stop for a cocktail. ("White Lotus" hotel)
Belmond Timeo: The most beautiful views and a true sense of place.
Belmond Sant Andrea: A great spot for cocktails on the beach.
Belmond Sant Andrea Beach Club: Book a cabana/lounger and spend the day at a beach club.
Rosmarino: A wonderful authentic Sicilian food experience in Taormina.
Bam Bar: The best gelato and granita — tip: you must dunk warm brioche in the granita for a true Sicilian breakfast.
Teatro Massimo: This opera house is a must for their cannoli! It was the best I had in Sicily.
Need to know
Just like there are amazing, luxurious hotels throughout Sicily, there are also so many small hotels, off the beaten path, that make a honeymoon in Sicily very special. They are authentic, romantic and a perfect way to balance a budget with splurges and saves. Many of them are in the countryside throughout Sicily. Curating a perfect honeymoon mixes a little of both and crafted experiences to go with these hotels make it perfection.
