Ireland is probably not the first place that comes to mind when thinking of beaches. You might be surprised! In Ireland beaches are everywhere — from right outside Dublin to around the island.

Where to find beaches in Ireland

  • Howth, Ireland - This destination is great for anyone who is visiting Dublin but wants to get out of the city and explore the nearby coast and Ireland beaches. Easily reached by train, there are a few beaches here that are perfect for a day trip. Claremont Beach is wide and flat — great for families! Be sure to bring a change of clothes. While in Howth, you can also enjoy several restaurants. One of our favorites is The Pier House. Recent clients commented that Howth is “easy to get to, welcome change of pace from Dublin, beautiful and welcoming!”

  • Greystones - Another option for those looking to escape Dublin but still get the vibe of Ireland and beaches. Can be reached by public transportation.

  • Dingle Peninsula, Ireland - Beaches here definitely have the Irish cliff vibe while the town offers a super cute seaside experience!

  • Donegal - For those looking to be a bit closer to Northern Ireland and beaches, this is the spot! It is a perfect bucket list spot for those visiting in hopes of seeing Ireland beaches.

  • Cliffs of Moher - While not exactly a beach, you can sit along the shore and enjoy the ocean. This is the perfect spot for those who don’t want to be on a sandy beach, but still want to enjoy the coastline and views. Super classic spot, just be sure to monitor the wind speed and weather. And don’t forget your camera!
