Things to do in Kotor, Montenegro

Bay of Kotor (Boka Bay): One of Montenegro's most beautiful spots, surrounded by stunning mountains. The bay’s calm, crystal-clear waters are ideal for boat rides, kayaking or simply relaxing along the shore to take in the tranquil views.
Kotor Old Town: Wonder around the UNESCO World Heritage site filled with narrow streets, historic buildings and cozy squares. This historic town is dotted with Venetian-style buildings and ancient churches. Must-sees include the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, Square of Arms, St. Luke's Church and the Maritime Museum to dive into Kotor's rich history.
Climb the Ladder of Kotor to the Kotor Fortress: For a more adventurous experience, take the hike up to the Kotor Fortress (San Giovanni Fortress). Known as the Ladder of Kotor, this steep climb includes over 1,350 steps, but the views from the top are nothing short of spectacular. From the fortress, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of Kotor’s old town below and the beautiful bay stretching out before you. This hike is worth the views!
Kotor Cable Car: The cable car ride takes you up to Mount Lovćen, where you’ll get a bird's-eye view of the bay, the town and the surrounding mountains. You can also visit the Njegoš Mausoleum at the summit, dedicated to the Montenegrin ruler and poet Petar II Petrović-Njegoš, and take in panoramic vistas of the entire region. The ride itself is a relaxing experience with incredible scenery.

Blue Cave: A must-see natural wonder, located on the Lustica Peninsula, not far from Kotor. This magical place, accessible by boat, opens into a stunning, tranquil space where you can swim in the glowing waters. It’s an unforgettable experience that should not be missed.
Our Lady of the Rock: A small island located just off the coast of Perast, home to a beautiful church and museum. The island is rich in history, and the church, which was built in the 17th century, features gorgeous paintings and intricate woodwork. You can take a short boat ride from Kotor to reach the island and spend some time admiring its history and natural beauty.

Perast: Just a short drive from Kotor, Perast is a charming town with a rich history. Its narrow streets, baroque architecture and beautiful views of the bay make it a perfect spot for a peaceful day trip. Take a boat ride to Our Lady of the Rock and explore this historic island.
