Day 2: Wonders, hike and more
Morning
One of the things Sedona is most famous for are it’s energy vortexes that are said to heighten spiritual and metaphysical growth. What a better way to channel those vortexes than to start the day with an early morning hike at Chapel of the Holy Cross or Cathedral Rock?
The Chapel of the Holy Cross was built into the red rocks and is designated as one of the seven “Man Made Wonders” of Arizona. To hike to the Chapel of the Holy Cross, you can take the Chapel Trail. The Chapel Trail can be accessed by using the Little Horse Trail. It is about three miles round trip and is considered easy. The end of the trail is located right at the Chapel parking area.
If you're up for more of a challenge, opt for the steep but rewarding Cathedral Rock hike. One of four best known vortexes in Sedona, the hiIt iske is just over a mile out and back. It is a steep rock scramble that leads to some of the most incredible views. This is well worth the trip. Make sure to wear good hiking shoes and lather on that sunscreen!
Afternoon
Head to D.A. Ranch Winery for a serene afternoon. Enjoy expansive views and the captivating Sedona sunset while sipping on a glass of red. Live music adds to the laid-back ambiance.
