Curator’s statement
Milos is a truly magical destination. A Greek island that is starting to get some hype, but still maintains a local authentic vibe. The bluest blue waters and some of the most unique beaches on earth make this the perfect spot to spend three days or forever.

Day 1: Arrival day
Whether traveling by ferry or flight, the compact size of Milos allows you to jump into the island life within minutes of arrival. Day one is best spent exploring neighborhoods and sights like the amazing Plaka, with its pedestrian alleys and cute shops and restaurants.
Stop by the catacombs to take in some local history and end your night with a spectacular sunset. The best viewing spots are from Plaka Castle, if you're up for a hike or from the main Plaka square. Once the sun goes down there are several great options for dinner and dessert nearby.
Avli Milos is a local favorite for dinner. They don't take reservations, but the line moves quickly and everyone waiting gets a glass of wine. It's like a little party before you sit down to eat.
Day 2: On the sea
Your second day starts a bit early, but don't worry, there will be plenty of time for relaxing. Book a catamaran tour, Milos Adventures has some great itineraries - I recommend the all-day tour with Captain Nic and see the island from the sea. An all-day tour includes lunch, snacks, beer, wine, soft drinks and a few surprises. The small group size provides an experience that is exclusively luxurious. The catamaran tours take you to the islands' best swimming and snorkeling spots that are only accessible by boat, like Kleftiko and Gerakas. The water is so blue you almost can't believe it's real. You'll also enjoy views of Syrma, the charming, colorful garage-type houses where fishermen would live. The water goes right to the front door. Other natural landmarks such as caves and rock formations are perfectly paired with a meal cooked fresh on the boat. An all-day tour takes you from morning to sundown and hits all the best spots, plus you get driven by an expert crew who are extremely knowledgeable about the history of the island.
Day 3: Beaches, beaches, beaches
Milos is home to some incredible beaches that are unlike any other beaches on the planet. At Sarakinikio you will feel like you are on the moon. This unique landscape provides the perfect backdrop for cliff jumping or a relaxing swim. Tsigrado Beach involves two ladders and a rope to reach. Mandrakia and Firopotamos are easy stops while waiting for your lunch table at Medusa or enjoy a meal cooked in the heat of volcanic soil.
Need to know
Renting a car for at least a day provides ease and flexibility for getting around to the beaches. With usual caution, driving on the island is simple and the main roads are paved. Following road signs is your best bet vs. using GPS. There is also regular bus service from the main port down of Adamas. Most restaurants on the island don't take reservations, but waits are often very short.
