Curator’s statement
Paso Robles' Wine Country oozes unpretentious and charming vibes along California's Central Coast. It stands time after time as one of our favorite destinations to visit any time of year, especially in the fall during harvest season.

Things to do
Wine tasting
Justin: Situated in the hills about 25 minutes from downtown Paso, Justin's vineyard is the perfect spot to begin your day wine tasting. If you're a wine lover, book their Hidden Cellar Tasting or if you're more the adventurous type book their e-bike tour through the vineyards that finishes with a tour of their barrel room and wine tasting.
Niner Wine Estates: With a heart built into the hill, we feel like no romantic visit to Paso is complete without a visit to family-owned, Niner. Their outdoor patio is huge, with space to wander the property and take pictures. Their reds are so good, you'll no doubt contemplate a membership. We recommend eating a leisurely lunch and enjoying a tasting here.
DAOU Vineyards: An absolute must for sunset! The tasting room sits atop Daou Mountain with views that will leave you feeling like you've ventured far further than 2 hours outside of Los Angeles. We recommend booking your tasting in advance and getting there early to make the most of their outdoor space.
Where to eat & drink
Spearhead Coffee: Stop by for a coffee before heading out for a day of wine tasting. They craft their own local syrups and make the most amazing pumpkin spice latte that is made of real pumpkin. Their cold brew is awesome for those coffee drinkers who only like it cold.
Pony Club Bar & Lounge at the Hotel Cheval: Stop by the Pony Club for pre-dinner or after dinner drinks in a romantic equestrian themed atmosphere that both locals and visitors love.
Thomas Hill Organics Bistro and Wine Bar: Located in the downtown area, Thomas Hill has a cozy patio tucked at the back of the restaurant that is perfect for a romantic farm-to-table dinner. It's great for lunch too, but we really recommend it for dinner on the day you check into town. They'll help you select the perfect local bottle of wine to go with your meal and you'll leave full and ready to take on a few days of wine tasting.
The Restaurant at Justin: If you're traveling for a celebratory occasion, save this for that special night! Serving a seasonal multi-course dinner tasting menu in an intimate setting with attentive hospitality, it's the perfect spot to raise a glass. Make sure to go hungry and we highly recommend adding the wine pairing. Local's tip: Book far in advance and make sure you've arranged transportation as service is super spotty and it can be hard to get an Uber.
Fish Gaucho: Situated on a corner in downtown Paso, we always recommend Fish Gaucho for a more lively, romantic dinner. We say that because it also easily accommodates groups (up to 18 people) and has a fun atmosphere. They have a tequila bible that will blow your mind and is a good refresh if you need a quick hiatus from wine. Order the Morro Bay Guac, Waygu Tartar, and Ahi Crudo to start. Their Keep it Clase marg is delicious and served in a clay vessel. It's a must for those craving a skinny style margarita.
Eleven Twenty-Two Speakeasy & Cocktail Lounge: Known as the only speakeasy in the California Central Coast, it's one of the few places in town that is open later than 9pm. So if you've had dinner and feel like you're not ready to go back, pop into Eleven Twenty-Two! They're known for using locally distilled spirits and farm to table ingredients to create the perfect handcrafted cocktail. It's dark, romantic and the perfect spot to sip on something other than wine.
