Day 1: Welcome to Colorado
Fly from your home airport to Grand Junction, Colorado and pick up your rental car. Drive to Gateway Canyons Resort in Gateway, CO for a 2-night stay.
Day 2: Relax and explore Gateway Canyons
This resort is a hidden gem that is surrounded by a beautiful mountain back-drop with two heated pools where you can simply relax or take a guided horseback ride, hike, or helicopter tour.
Day 3: Drive to Glenwood Springs, CO
Check in to The Hotel Denver or Hotel Colorado for a 1-night stay. Take a dip at Iron Mountain Hot Springs (this place is absolutely incredible!) and a stroll downtown to explore some boutique shops in a cute mountain town.
Try Sweet Coloradough in Glenwood Springs for your morning breakfast, lunch, or a famous Colorado donut.
For a fancy dinner in Glenwood Springs, you will love Hugo's Restaurant.
For an after dinner treat or a stop with the kiddos, grab some delicious ice cream at Sundae in Glenwood Springs.
4 & 5: Drive to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort
This is another beautiful hidden gem and the route that I would suggest to unwind and enjoy the beauty of Colorado or alternatively you may drive to Vail, CO for a 2-night stay.
Check out of your Glenwood Springs accommodation and drive yourself to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort in Buena Vista, CO. This is another beautiful hidden gem and the route that I would suggest to unwind and enjoy the beauty of Colorado or alternatively you may drive to Vail, CO for a 2-night stay.
I would highly encourage you to stop at Maroon Bells and do the 1.9 easy loop trail hike. This destination is a true stunner and another one of those must-dos when in Colorado! If you take the suggested route down to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort, Maroon Bells is on your way. This hike is relatively easy and suitable for most fitness levels, even children.
Another highly recommended hike near Glenwood Springs is the Hanging Lake Hike. This one is a more challenging 3.1 mile out and back hike and not recommended unless you have a moderate level of fitness. Although it is a challenging one, it's absolutely worth it for some gorgeous scenery if you have time.
Day 6: Drive to Denver
Spend your final night at the Grand Hyatt Denver or Thompson Denver. You will be surrounded by fantastic dining options for your final evening in the Mile High City.
In Denver, grab dinner at Rioja or Red Square Euro Bistro, within walking distance of the hotel options provided.
Day 7: Goodbye Colorado
Before making your way to the airport, grab a quick breakfast at Denver Biscuit Company or Sassafras American Eatery (both are so delicious!).
