Things to do in the Bahamas
Although there are several resorts in the Bahamas, we opted for The Atlantis on Paradise Island. Offering the most kid-friendly environment. It was the perfect resort to keep toddlers entertained while parents could still enjoy their vacation. The below activities are all at the resort.
When you arrive at the all inclusive resort of Atlantis, you have all kinds of activities at your fingertips without leaving the resort.
Beach day
Along with several pools, The Atlantis offers five beach areas. The North Paradise Lagoon Beach, where the water is protected by a cove, is the perfect area for toddlers and families. Calm blue waters protected by the cove make it perfect for little ones to splash and play without worrying about strong waves. Kids will love playing on the soft sand, while parents can enjoy the serenity and views of the resort.
Pool day
Atlantis has fourteen different pools to choose from, each with their own unique offering. With toddlers, one of the best areas is the Poseiden Playzone. There is shallow water and small slides and water play elements. It’s the perfect place for little ones to splash around and enjoy the thrill of a waterslide just for them. There are plenty of lounge chairs for parents to sit back and relax with a cocktail or pool snack!
Playtime with dolphins
A truly unique experience that all ages will love! You will be able to get up close with the dolphins and experience their high-energy and interactive personalities. Guests under four are free with a paying adult, so it is a great activity for the whole family and an unforgettable experience!
Marina Village
Just a short walk from the Royal Tower at Atlantis is the marina village. With local shops and restaurants, it's a great place to embrace the Bahameian lifestyle. The kids will love the gift shops and kiosks. On Friday nights, the Marina Village hosts local artisans selling a variety of products and live music.
Places to eat & drink in the Bahamas

Like the activities, you are not short on restaurants when you visit The Atlantis in Nassau. When traveling with toddlers, we opted for some more kid friendly dining options with simple menus. For breakfast, we kept it simple with pastries in the morning. For lunch and dinner, I suggest the following.
Shake Shack: A fan favorite in the US with a bohemian flair. Shake Shack offers the perfect lunch of burgers and fries by the pool. You don’t want to miss out on their Guava milkshake! A delicious treat that can only be found on the island.
Marina Pizzeria is the perfect spot for a quick dinner with kids. Pizzas are ready in under ten minutes and you can head out to the Marina Village to enjoy the views where picnic tables are set up to enjoy a casual meal.
Bimini Road: A full-service restaurant with a Bohemian flair, Bimini Road checks all the boxes. The atmosphere is perfect for families looking for a casual evening, and reservations are not required. The staff is welcoming and friendly and you can find Bahamian staples like the conch fritters on the menu.
Mackenzie’s: For something unique and local to the area, try Mackenzie's. It is a small shack known for their fresh conch salad.
Need to know
The Atlantis offers hourly child care in the hotel rooms if you opt for a parent night out!
If you opt for higher-end dining options at the resort, it is highly recommended to make reservations. Most restaurants allow families with children to be seated before 6 pm.
