If these things pique your interest, then look no further than a perfect weekend getaway to Los Alamos, a destination that's about 30 minutes east of Santa Barbara. Day 1: Arrive in Los Olivos

Once you arrive in Los Olivos settle into your lodgings at The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, which just recently opened and is my top choice among the array of Santa Ynez hotels. As a member of Auberge Resorts, it is the perfect mix of understated Wild-West charm and effortless luxury. If Los Olivos isn’t your style, I am happy to offer more recommendations based on your lodging interests.

After you’ve settled in comfortably, head on over to Bell’s, a French-inspired, family-owned restaurant opened in 2018 by Daisy and Greg Ryan, and arguably has the best food in the region. It has a newly appointed Michelin Star, and is well worth the visit. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time!

A note from Briana

Just a heads up, you will need a car to get to and around Los Alamos, so plan accordingly.

Day 2: Farm-to-table dining & hikes

Los Alamos' restaurants provide some of the region's most delicious, freshest cuisine. Start day two of your getaway by grabbing breakfast at Bob’s Well Bread, a breakfast bakery where you will find hand-made breads and pastries made with fresh ingredients sourced from the region.

After breakfast, head on over to the neighboring Los Olivos (about 13 minutes away from Los Alamos) for a hike at Lover’s Loop – one of my favorite trails to hike when I visit the region.

If you’re feeling hungry after your hike, stop by Industrial Eats, a repurposed warehouse-turned-restaurant in Buelton serving seasonal meals spruced from sustainable farms and food pioneers.

Following lunch, head for wine tasting at Spear Winery – a family-owned, sustainable winery producing the best craft wines.

Finally, end your day with dinner at SY Kitchen. This is a delicious Italian restaurant that is staple for the Santa Ynez Valley.

Day 3: Leisure & wine in Santa Ynez, California

Finish out your wellness weekend getaway with a leisurely morning, grabbing brunch at Felix Feed & Coffee, a delicious spot right inside the Inn at Mattei’s Tavern.

I love working in a yoga or Pilates session to ground myself before wrapping up my weekend. You can even do your own class at Mattei’s Tavern in their gorgeous yoga studio or outside on the property. It's one of the best ways to end your wellness weekend off before heading back to a work-filled week!
