Curator’s statement

Every April San Antonio comes alive to celebrate Fiesta! During Fiesta, San Antonio hosts a variety of events including parades, concerts and food festivals. The event was first held in 1891 as a way to honor the heroes of the battles of the Alamo and San Jacinto. Over the years, Fiesta has grown to become one of the largest parties in the state of Texas, attracting over three million people each year. The event showcases the vibrant culture of San Antonio, including its Spanish and Mexican heritage, as well as its unique blend of Texan and American influences. Visitors can enjoy traditional Tex-Mex food, live music and colorful parades featuring elaborate floats and costumes. Fiesta is a celebration of community and diversity, and it is a must-see event for anyone visiting San Antonio.
