Things to do in London

  • Visit Borough Market, a covered outdoor market with beautifully curated stalls near the Tower of London and Shakespeare’s Globe. You will find everything here, from the best truffles to an array of nuts, from the freshest sourdoughs to the ripest cheese!

  • Visit the Notting Hill Fish & Meat Shop, a must-see if you are heading to Portobello Market. With its enormous glass fronted and Himalayan salt backed meat cabinets, extravagant fish counters and bountiful fruits and vegetables in the middle, this place is a feast for the eyes!

  • Visit Shepherd Market, a hidden gem in the heart of Mayfair. This is quintessential Guy Ritchie-esque London with a selection of elegant pubs and eateries.

  • Visit Hedonism Wines, on beautiful Davies Street, minutes away from the luxury boutiques of Bond Street and the chic Berkeley Square, home to the legendary Annabel’s. This wine emporium’s window displays are next-level Instagram worthy, not to mention their selection of amazing wines and spirits from all over the globe.

  • Visit Golborne Road (at the top of Portobello Road in North Kensington), where you will find all the buzziest bakeries and eateries including Layla’s, Straker’s and Canteen, to satisfy your cravings after having worked up an appetite browsing all the cute stalls along Portobello Market!

Day trips:

  • A trip to the Cotswolds is easily achieved by taking a train from Paddington Station to either Stroud, Moreton-in-Marsh or Kemble. You will find many beautiful pubs for a casual and quintessentially British bite to eat. If time permits, you could visit the Daylesford Farm near Kingham, with its beautiful shop and restaurant, or Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm near Chipping Norton.

  • An altogether different option is a trip to Henley-on-Thames, especially in the summer months or during the Henley Royal Regatta, where you can rent a little boat and with a bottle of bubbles and fresh cucumber sandwiches, you can watch the world — and world-class rowers — go by!

Places to eat & drink in London

  • Layla’s Bakery: Near Portobello Market, it has the most beautifully laminated pastries.

  • Kuro Bakery: The perfect spot for breakfast on the go, just outside Notting Hill Gate station, before you go and explore the neighborhood.

  • Ottolenghi Hampstead: Ottolenghi is legendary in London, and this branch, near the Heath and its beautiful views of London, has plenty of tables so you can have breakfast, brunch or lunch in comfort and style.

  • Hagen: The best coffee in London, all the way from Denmark. In all the trendiest locations.

  • Canteen: By ex-River Café chef Jessica Filbey, this is the buzziest new opening in Notting Hill, for good reason. Get there 15 mins before they open as they do not take reservations.

  • Clarke’s Restaurant: An elegant farm-to-table restaurant which has just celebrated its 40th anniversary. Sally Clarke is a disciple of Alice Waters of Chez Panisse fame. If you can’t make it to the restaurant, there is always the bakery on Westbourne Grove or the shop on Kensington Church Street (opposite one of the best-lit pubs in London, the Churchill Arms).

  • Core by Clare Smyth: Reservations open three months in advance for this sophisticated three Michelin-star restaurant in Notting Hill, so plan accordingly! Clare Smyth offers a contemporary ambience for beautifully executed Modern European natural, sustainable food.

  • Plates: The buzziest addition to plant-based cuisine in London. Check their Instagram stories for last minute availability.

  • Oma: If all the browsing around Borough Market has made you work up an appetite, make sure to have lunch here, for the finest Greek cuisine in London.

  • Mount Street Restaurant: A unique offering in the heart of Mount Street and Mayfair, perfect for an elegant lunch surrounded by over 200 world-class pieces of art!

  • Silva: Tucked away in a chic mews behind Berkeley Square, with a calm ambience and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.

  • Sumi: A soothing palette of natural materials makes this Japanese restaurant on Westbourne Grove feel truly authentic. Their gohan and matcha mille crepe is a must try!

  • Zephyr: A delicious Greek and Middle Eastern-influenced restaurant with Murano glass table decorations to die for!

  • The Cadogan Hotel: For its amazing afternoon tea by Michelin-starred Benoît Blin — no foodie trip to London is complete without an afternoon tea.

  • The George: A beautiful pub in the heart of Fitzrovia, with gorgeous Sunday roasts — no foodie trip to London is complete without a Sunday pub lunch!
