Curator’s statement
The Sunshine Coast in Australia is a cluster of beach towns and hinterland villages stretching Queensland’s southern coastline. One of these, arguably the most popular, is a spot I hold near and dear to my heart — Noosa Heads. I’ve spent the last twenty-seven summers in this magical beach destination, and prior to moving to New York I called it my home. From its incredible culinary scene & warm hospitality to its laidback lifestyle & stunning landscapes — Noosa is the best of Aussie culture and beaches.

Things to do in Noosa Heads, Australia
Walk the Noosa National Park
While many come to Noosa for the stunning beaches, a lesser known delight is the tranquil rainforest-esque National Park. This is the Sunshine Coast’s beloved nature reserve, with a plethora of lookouts including Tea Tree Bay, Dolphin Point and Hell's Gates. Head out for a morning stroll among the locals (make sure to say hello), and grab a coffee at Sails on your return.
Visit the Noosa Farmers Market
Both locals and visitors love this weekly market held in Noosaville on Sundays from 6am-12pm. You’ll find local and seasonal organic produce, freshly caught seafood, baked treats and delicious food stalls. Be sure to grab yourself a vegan smoothie at Heaps Good Smoothies (the passion pop is my favorite).
Stroll along Hastings Street
Hastings Street is home to a myriad of fashion and homeware boutiques, galleries, cafes, and restaurants — all right by the beach. It’s rare for an Aussie coastal town to house so many upscale, local and international options but this is what makes Noosa so special. After a day spent in the sun, check out some of the best like Palm Noosa, Bowery 475, Lamington Noosa, Dissh, Deus Ex Machina, Alterior Motif and Noosa Longboards..
A dip at Noosa Main Beach
What you’ve all been waiting for, Noosa Main Beach is truly unmatched. I’ve been in the US for quite some time now, and honestly nothing compares to the warm, clear-blue waters, salty air and white sand so soft it squeaks! The beach accommodates both kids and adults, and lifeguards are on duty year round.
