Curator’s statement
Granada truly is a special place, known for its rich history and stunning landscapes. From the Alhambra Palace to the vibrant streets of the Albaicín, there's so much to see and experience.
First things first, avoid traveling to Granada in the summer—it's too hot! The best times to visit are in the spring and fall. Winter can be cold and rainy.

Things to do in Granada, Spain
Must-see attraction: The Alhambra If it’s your first time in Granada, visiting the Alhambra is a must. Purchase your tickets in advance, and if your budget allows, consider hiring a private guide for a more in-depth experience. A typical tour lasts between 2-3 hours.
Lunch with a view: Before or after your Alhambra visit, have lunch or a drink on the terrace of the Parador de Granada, located on the Alhambra grounds. It offers a lovely view of Generalife, also known as the Summer Palace.
Sunset and dinner: Visit the Mirador San Nicolas at sunset for a fabulous view of the Alhambra, and then have dinner at Las Tomasas to continue enjoying the stunning vista.
Exploring Granada: Granada is a walkable city. I recommend exploring on foot, but if you get tired, taking a cab is a convenient option, especially if you are heading to Albaicin.
Historic sites and refreshments: When visiting the Granada Cathedral and the Royal Chapel, stop for a drink at Mezcaleria Valentona in the Mercado San Agustin.
Day trips
Sierra Nevada: If you love the mountains, visit the Sierra Nevada. There are activities all year long, but the ski season is particularly special. Stay at El Lodge or the Vincci Seleccion Rumaykiyya for a memorable experience.
