Curator’s statement
Mykonos lived up to every bit of hype I had heard about it. I went on a trip with my husband to celebrate our second wedding anniversary and we were looking for a mixture of fun and beach-side relaxation. We had the absolute best time exploring the beaches of Mykonos, dancing to house music while the sun set and eating the most delicious fresh seafood.

Day 1: Arrive in Mykonos
Depending on where you're coming from, you're likely landing in Mykonos in the early evening. Check into your hotel and explore the property while the sun is setting and a welcome drink is in your hand. Once you're showered and unpacked, hop in a taxi and grab dinner in town at Noema — you'll need a reservation. It's a chic, clubby vibe with amazing dishes such as tuna belly to start and brown butter sole to share as an entree. Once finished, walk around town before going back to your hotel and getting a good night's rest.
Day 2: Lounge on a daybed & sip rosé
Wake up on your first full day in Mykonos, have a quick breakfast at your hotel and pack your beach bag for a full day out. You'll start the day at Hippie Fish, lounging on comfy day beds enjoying the sea view and incredible swimming. You'll grab lunch at their restaurant and listen to the DJ play funky beats while you feast on amazing, fresh sushi and a glass of crisp local rosé.
Once you've had your last dip in the sea, you'll head back to your hotel for a poolside nap and a shower before leaving your hotel to go see the sunset. The sun sets around eight pm, so try to leave your hotel by seven to secure optimal views. I recommend Scorpios for their sunset ritual and amazing dinner. Share a piece of fresh fish for dinner — you won't regret it! Pro-tip: Their big party night is Sunday, so either indulge if you're looking for a late night or avoid if you prefer a more chill vibe.
Day 3: Take a water taxi to Agia Anna Beach
Waking up on your second full day in Mykonos you are feeling rested and ready to party. You will take a taxi to Agia Anna Beach where you will rent a sunbed and spend the late morning relaxing and swimming in their beautiful cove. Around three pm, you will walk along the rocks of the cove to a waterside lunch at Spilia. This was a highlight of the trip for me. Incredible Greek salads and fresh seafood with a club vibe that grows as the afternoon gets later.
Depending on how you're feeling post-lunch, either make a later reservation for dinner or grab a gyro from Jimmy's and enjoy it while you wander through town — you won't regret it!
Day 4: Dance on tables at Principote Beach Club
On your third day, wake up and head to Principote Beach Club to lounge on your rented sunbeds and swim in their incredible cove. As always, a reservation is recommended both for the beds and lunch. We had lunch at four pm and the party was in full swing. Think standing on tables and waving napkins. The fresh pita and tzatziki plus the beef tartar were two highlights of the meal.
If you're looking for less of a party, Kiki's is a short five-minute drive where you can enjoy some of the most delicious, local Greek meals at this local taverna. For dinner, head to Zuma for incredible sunset views and delicious sushi.
Need to know
A few tips:
Taxis and transfers are around $50 wherever you're going, so try to plot out your itinerary and book somewhere to stay where walking is potential for a few things.
For dinner, if you are looking to see sunset, make your reservation at seven or eight pm so that you have optimal views. If you're looking for more of a "night-out" vibe, make your reservation for nine pm or later.
Sun beds cost anywhere from $80 to 150 per bed, so take this into account when planning your afternoons and lunches.
