Things to do in Morocco

  • Visit the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca - Witness the architectural marvel of Casablanca at the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco. Be awestruck by its intricate details and towering minaret, the tallest in Africa.

  • Go on a historical and shopping tour in the Medina of Fes - Haggle for treasures in the labyrinthine Fes medina on a shopping tour, browsing hand-crafted pottery, colorful textiles and aromatic spices amid the lively calls of shopkeepers.

  • Visit the prestigious University of al-Qarawiyyin - The oldest educational institution still operating, founded in 859 AD, was originally a mosque with an associated school. The college has incredible architecture, decorated with elaborate calligraphy.

  • Visit the Shpigel Lookout and the Borj Nord Museum - For a great view of the medina, one of the world’s largest and oldest car-free urban zones, visit the Shpigel Lookout near the Borj Nord Museum.

  • Wander through the blue streets of Chefchaouen - Good for a short day trip from Fes, spend your day getting lost through the beautiful blue streets of Chefchaouen.

  • Go glamping in the Sahara Desert with the Desert Luxury Camp - Live like a king in a glamping tent or luxurious dome out in the Sahara Desert. Desert Luxury Camp offers luxurious accommodations, lively music at night, a relaxing pool to take a dip in or even camel rides out through the rolling dunes.

  • Walk through the fish market of Essaouira - Brace yourself for a sensory overload as you navigate the Essaouira fish market: glistening displays of exotic seafood shimmer under the sun, while the air thrums with the calls of fishermen and the cries of squawking seagulls.

  • Explore the galleries and museums of Essaouira - Essaouira offers an array of art galleries such as the Galerie la Kasbah, a hub of both local and international art pieces and Le Real Mogador, a converted mansion displaying Moroccan artworks. There’s even a beautiful museum, Bayt Dakira, which highlights the coexistence of Jewish and Muslim communities in the area.

  • Explore the Medina of Marrakech - With hidden gems of museums and restaurants galore, the medina is the best place to walk around to explore and experience the culture.

  • Visit the Jardin Majorelle (Majorelle Gardens) in Marrakech - With royal blue buildings and colorful botanical gardens, this is a must-see spot. Within the gardens also include the Yves Saint Laurent Museum (best to visit in the afternoon) as well as the Pierre Berge Museum of Berber Arts, which pays respect to traditional Amazigh craftwork.

Day trips

  • Chefchaouen - The perfect day trip from Fes. A two-hour drive from the city, you can spend three to four hours wandering the beautiful blue allies of the medina before heading back.

  • Atlas Mountains - An absolutely beautiful day trip from Marrakech to experience the array of environmental differences throughout Morocco. A day trip will explore the broad valleys and lush orchards as you make your way to the Agafay desert, where you can even go for a camel ride!

Places to eat & drink in Morocco

  • Rick’s Cafe (Casablanca) - Focusing on American and European dishes, this Casablanca film inspired restaurant is one you can’t miss; think live piano music, lavish balconies, and ornate light fixtures.

  • Ruined Garden (Fes) - A beautiful oasis in the heart of the medina that’s perfect for lunch or dinner after time spent exploring. If you’re going for dinner, we’ll need to make a reservation for you, which I can assist you with!

  • Nur (Fes) - A Michelin-starred tasting menu and experience to remember! I will never forget eating here as it was truly an experience. The service was top notch and the food was incredible.

  • Cafe Clock (Chefchaouen) - A great vibe with a beautiful terrace that has a wonderful view of the medina.

  • KABANA ROOFTOP (Marrakech) - A fun place to party with amazing cocktails, delicious food options, and an eclectic vibe.

  • Salut Maroc (Essaouira) - Enjoy a captivating dinner experience at Salut Maroc, where delicious Moroccan fare meets stunning rooftop views of Essaouira and the possibility of live Gnawa music for a truly enchanting evening.

  • Restaurant Il Mare (Essaouira) - A great rooftop restaurant with the best fresh oysters and mignonette to pair!

  • Food Stalls by the Fish Market (Essaouira) - A truly unique and authentic experience, it’s amazing to visit the food stalls by the fish market where you can pick a fresh fish and have them cook it right there for you to enjoy. I recommend stall number four, personally.
