Day 1: Getting to Cappadocia
Getting there: Take a domestic flight from Istanbul over and then get on the hotel’s shuttle service to the hotel.
Day 2: Soar over the city with a hot air balloon tour
Depart while the sky is still dark and watch the sun rise from a hot air ballon, as hundreds of balloons race to get up the fastest and highest.
Afterwards, take a hike from the Pigeon Valley trailhead. If you're feeling adventurous, go all the way to Uchisar Castle. I spent around two to three hours exploring this town before taking a long stroll back to Goreme.
Afterwards, she the sunset from camel back. Or, if a camel isn't your speed, go for a horseback or ATV ride.
Day 3: Find the highest viewpoint in Goreme
Wake up bright and early to head to the Highest viewpoint in Goreme and watch the balloons go up. You'll get a better spot if you go earlier, and you may see fireflies blinking in the dim morning light.
In the afternoon, take a tour to Pigeon Valley, Selime Monastery Museum, Ihlara Valley and Derinkuyu Underground City.
Day 4: Catch one last sunrise before departing
For you last morning, watch the sun and balloons ride from your hotel balcony. Then swing by the Goreme Open Air Museum before saying goodbye.
