Favorite things to do in Vail during the winter months:

  • Skiing and snowboarding Vail Ski Resort: Vail is a world-renowned ski resort, with over 5,000 acres of skiable terrain. Perfect for beginner skiers to advanced riders, Vail has everything from beginner slopes to challenging backcountry terrain.

  • Ice skating: Vail has 3 ice skating rinks, including two outdoor ice rinks in Lionshead and Vail Village. There's also an indoor rink at Dobson Ice Arena where you might even be lucky enough to see a hockey game featuring Vail’s hometown team Vail Yeti.

  • Snowmobiling: Interested in exploring Vail’s backcountry? Sign up for a snowmobile tour that will guide you through the pristine wilderness area at the top of Vail Pass.

  • Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing: Looking for a peaceful way to enjoy snow-covered meadows and forests, Vail has a large network of cross-country and snowshoeing trails that lead to breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

  • Skiing and snowboarding Beaver Creek Ski Resort: Just 15 minutes away from Vail, Beaver Creek offers just under 2,000 acres of skiable terrain, over 150 trails. Beaver Creek is known for its high-end atmosphere, offering a more exclusive and luxurious experience.
