Curator’s statement
Rhodes welcomed me with its charismatic energy — a mix of history, charm and an undeniable flirtiness in the air. This was the one destination where I found myself traveling alone, yet I never felt alone. The lively streets, the warm-hearted locals and the tantalizing aromas of Greek cuisine kept me engaged at every turn. Rhodes isn’t just about food and beaches.
The architecture here is stunning, with medieval structures and vibrant streets that make every corner feel like a scene from a movie. Walking through the Old Town, I was in awe of the historical influences woven into the city’s fabric. Rhodes blends relaxation, culture and adventure effortlessly.

Things to do in Rhodes, Greece

One of the highlights of my time in Rhodes was visiting Ixia Beach. With its blend of sand and pebbles, this beach has a dynamic energy. The shore was lined with blue umbrellas, sunbathers and beach lovers enjoying the Mediterranean sun.
Unlike some secluded beaches, Ixia has a buzzing yet relaxed atmosphere, making it the perfect place to soak up the sun and enjoy the waves. The beachfront is also known for its variety of restaurants and bars, offering a great spot to sip on a refreshing drink while admiring the Aegean views.
Day trips:
There’s plenty to explore in Rhodes! Strolling through the old town is a must, where medieval charm meets vibrant modern life. If I had more time, I would have visited Lindos, known for its stunning Acropolis and breathtaking views.
Another great option is taking a boat tour along the coast to see Rhodes from the water. The beaches are also worth a visit — whether it’s Elli Beach for a relaxed vibe or Anthony Quinn Bay for a picturesque escape.
Places to eat & drink in Rhodes, Greece

I had my first gyro here, and let me tell you, it was an experience! A friendly waiter playfully convinced me to try one, asking if I knew about tzatziki, feta and all the delicious toppings that make Greek food so special. That simple street food moment turned into a memory I still smile about.
Later, while sightseeing with friends, we sat down for a classic Greek salad— fresh, crisp and bursting with flavors that somehow taste better in Greece than anywhere else in the world. Rhodes left me with a taste for more — more food, more adventure and more of that relaxed yet energetic vibe that makes it so unique.
Whether you're strolling through its historic streets, indulging in local flavors or lounging on the beaches, Rhodes finds a way to charm you into staying just a little longer.
