Curator’s statement

This was such a fun quick trip. Honestly, I didn't expect to fall in love with this area as much as we did. Can't wait to return sometime soon! Chattanooga has a little something for everyone, children and adults alike. Plenty of family-focused activities, along with great things for couples or retired folks as well.

Things to do in Chattanooga

The image shows a scenic overlook with a stone compass indicating the direction and distance to various locations, under the phrase “See Seven States.”
  • Rock City Gardens - Such a fun place to stroll through the park and see all of the rock formations and fabulous views. The iconic "Lovers Leap" and "See Seven States" at the top of the mountain are breathtakingly beautiful on a clear day.

  • Lookout Mountain Incline Railway - A great family activity! Nicknamed "America's Most Amazing Mile" this railcar ride up the mountain provides fabulous views of the city of Chattanooga. At the bottom station in St. Elmo, you will find plenty of shopping, breweries, eateries and our personal favorite stop — Clumpie's Ice Cream.

  • Downtown Chattanooga - Downtown has a lot of really fun options, like the Original Moonpie Store, Classic Arcade Pinball Museum, Walnut Street Walking Bridge, Chattanooga Zoo and Coolidge Park, with the 130-Year old carousel.

  • Chattanooga Choo Choo - Great little historic spot. There is a cafe and bar in the original station, with a train exhibit in the back. Lots of fun.

Places to eat & drink in Chattanooga

The image shows an entrance with the word “CHATTANOOGA” overhead, a person posing with arms raised and a red locomotive in the background.

Brunch:

  • Milk and Honey - The brunch here is fabulous! The Nashville Hot Chicken Biscuit is a must try for those who like everything hot.

Dinner:

  • Alleia - Fabulous Rustic Italian Restaurant with an alluring atmosphere. The menu is seasonal so always subject to change, but the food is high quality and definitely delicious.
