Day 1: Arrival and Resort Relaxation
Upon arriving in Steamboat Springs, settle into the inviting Steamboat Grand Resort, your luxurious home away from home. With spacious accommodations and stunning mountain views, this resort provides the perfect backdrop for your getaway. Choose one of their many different suite layouts, ranging from studios to 3-bedroom condos.
After checking in, head straight to the resort's pool area. Ease into the crystal-clear waters of their heated pool. Soak up the mountain sun in one of their many loungers or unwind in the bubbling hot tubs. It's the ideal way to kick off your long weekend in the mountains.
For dinner, make your way to The Commons, Steamboat Spring’s first food hall located downtown alongside Butcherknife Creek. Take advantage of their full-service bar and 5 unique dining options, where you are sure to find something for everyone.
Day 2: Soothing Hot Springs and Mountain Views
Start your day with breakfast at Creekside Cafe, savoring delicious dishes while overlooking Soda Creek, which feeds into the Yampa River. Choose from one of their many “Creekside Faves” like the Corned Beef Hash or Chicken and Waffles. In the mood for a Bloody, they have you covered with 6 different options. Pro Tip: Reservations are highly recommended as sometimes the wait can be over an hour.
Next, embark on a scenic drive to the iconic Strawberry Park Hot Springs. Nestled in a forested paradise, these natural hot springs provide a rejuvenating experience like no other. Soak in the soothing mineral-rich waters while surrounded by lush greenery and the fresh mountain air. Pro Tip: If you are traveling with the kiddos, make sure you plan on departing before dark as clothing becomes optional in the evening.
After getting your feel of the hot springs, make your way over to Slopeside for an afternoon of outdoor games, simple bites and live music. Or simply relax on the patio with a refreshing drink and soak up the mountain ambiance.
Day 3: Gondola Ride and Evening Indulgence
Take a leisurely morning ride up Mt. Werner via the Steamboat Gondola, where you'll be treated to breathtaking vistas of the surrounding mountains. It's a perfect opportunity for hiking or simply enjoying the panoramic views. From the top, riders can go for a leisurely nature walk, hike all the way back down to the base area or hit the trails in the Steamboat Bike Park.
For the afternoon, take a stroll down Lincoln Street and visit the local shops and pop into one of the many restaurants for a quick bite.
In the evening, venture to Laundry, a local favorite, for an exceptional dining experience. Savor innovative dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients, paired with an impressive wine list. It's a culinary journey that perfectly complements your getaway. Pro Tip: You will notice that Laundry is in the same location as Creekside Café where the owners are delivering you two completely different dining experiences in the same location. Although some will not want to visit the same location twice, I highly recommend both.
Day 4: Until Next Time
Before bidding Steamboat Springs farewell, stop by Beard and Braid for a delicious coffee and seasonal pastry before the long road home.
