NOLA is an epic destination for anyone. Whether you are a history buff, music lover, art aficionado, foodie, wildlife enthusiast or all of the above, you can plan an amazing getaway to bustling Louisiana. From the French Quarter to the surrounding swamp lands and marshes, you will not be short of things to do and places to explore. Delicacies are also not in short supply. Seafood gumbo, jambalaya, muffuletta, po' boys as well as sweet treats like pralines and beignets won't disappoint any palette. The culture is intoxicating and distinct from any other, and a fantastic place to experience a very diverse atmosphere.

Day 1: Arrive in NOLA

The vibrant interior of Drip Affogato Bar.

Arrive and check in to the Virgin hotel New Orleans, hit up happy hour at the commons club for great cocktails on site and spend the afternoon at the rooftop pool.

Walk to dinner at Luke, and indulge in some delicious shrimp and grits. For a night cap, head to Drip Affogato Bar.

Day 2: Swamp tour and dinner

Dessert at Jack Rose restaurant

Wake up early and enjoy great coffee and breakfast at the funny library on site, meet your your shuttle to your small group airboat swamp tour.

Have dinner at Jack Rose reservations recommended, then enjoy some live music at The Spotted Cat or wonder along the many live music options around frenchmen street, and possibly some late night beignets at Cafe du Monde.

Day 3: Garden District and New Orleans Museum of Art

Sleep and then head to Birdy's for a brunch board. Spend early morning and afternoon on a self-guided walking tour of the Garden District. Peruse the shops and cafes of Magazine Street or head to the New Orleans Museum of Art.

Head to Mr. B's Bistro for dinner — reservations recommended. Following dinner, wander Bourbon Street for great nightlife and people watching.

Day 4: Plan a tour today

Commander’s Palace is a renowned New Orleans restaurant known for its upscale Creole cuisine, historic charm, and vibrant atmosphere.

Spend the morning wandering around the French market and taking a tour today. A French Quarter cocktail and foodie tour is a great option. Ghost tours, plantation tours, cemetery tours and steamboat evening cruises along the Mississippi are other great options.

Have lunch or dinner at Commanders Palace.

Day 5: Jazz brunch

More information on insects can be found at Audobon Insectarium.

Book a jazz brunch at Antoine's. Check out the WWII Museum or Audubon Insectarium or Sazerac House. Spend the afternoon perusing the many art galleries in the French Quarter and visit Jackson square.

Grab a muffuletta and a few Pimm's cups from the Napolean House. After, catch a show at Preservation Hall, tickets required.

Additional days

A partly submerged crocodile is seen in a swamp tour in New Orleans.

Mardi Gras World, New Orleans City Park, St. Louis Cathedral and the Audubon Aquarium are all other great places to check out if you have more time in NOLA.
