Curator’s statement
As the weather changes, of course, there are those who long to be on a sunny beach somewhere, umbrella, drink in hand. Naturally, the beach is lovely, but as I look out my window in Fort Lauderdale and see the days getting shorter and feel a subtle hint of fall in the air, I long for a warm fireplace to cozy up to.
In my travels through the years, I've made some nice memories fireside. There's nothing nicer than coming in from the crisp air to enjoy the warmth of a fireplace.
Here are a few of my personal favorites, which also happen to be partner hotels.

Things to do in North America
I can think of several reasons to choose a hotel with a fireplace in your room, depending on your travel plans. When traveling to a cold-weather destination, a fireplace in your hotel room can provide a much-needed source of warmth. Or, if you're planning a romantic getaway, a fireplace can help to set the mood for a romantic evening.
Here are some specific examples of how you can enjoy a fireplace in your hotel room:
- Relax and unwind after a long day of sightseeing or business meetings. Curl up in a chair in front of the fire with a good book, a cup of tea, or a glass of wine.
- Create a romantic atmosphere. Dim the lights, put on some music, and cuddle up with your loved one in front of the fire.
- Enjoy a meal or snack in front of the fire. Order room service and luxuriate.
- Warm up after a day of skiing, snowboarding, or other winter activities.
No matter what your reason for wanting a fireplace in your hotel room, you're sure to enjoy the added comfort, ambiance, and luxury that it provides.
