Wineries with a View

Storia di Pietra: This modern winery offers a glorious view of Boka Bay. Perched at 2,200 feet, this hillside vineyard benefits from exceptional drainage, sun exposure and a perfect Mediterranean microclimate for ideal grape growth and ripening. The kind and knowledgeable staff and owners offer a tour of the property with tasting.

Savina Winery: A small family-run winery in Herceg Novi with stunning views, offers tastings of local Montenegrin wines paired with charcuterie and cheeses.

Plantaže: Montenegro's largest winery, state-owned Plantaže, produces 90% of the country's wine. Its vast vineyards hold 11.5 million vines, mostly Vranac and stretch from the south of Podgorica to Lake Skadar. The Šipčanik cellar, located in a former military hangar, offers tastings of Montenegro's native varieties.

Zenta: Montenegrin pioneer Dragica Vučinić runs Zenta Vučinić winery, crafting seven single-varietal wines. Tour her underground cellar and taste in the scenic tasting room, learning the ideal serving temperatures for her portfolio (2,500 bottles annually).

Restaurants with Excellent Wine Selections

Gallardo Steak House

Located in Tivat (Porto Montenegro), this fine dining restaurant with phenomenal dry-aged meats. The beautifully designed interior and attentive staff make it a great choice for a special occasion. They also have a sushi menu if you prefer fish.

One Restaurant

This chic waterfront restaurant in Tivat (Porto Montenegro) offers a great atmosphere. They offer a great variety of dishes, and a well-curated wine list.

Lighthouse Restaurant

Oceanfront restaurant with private marina access in Kotor Bay. Savor exquisite à la carte Mediterranean cuisine amid breathtaking mountain and sea views. Watch sailboats drift by for a touch of nostalgia. We ate there for five to seven days while at the Hyatt, and love their fabulous risotto and pastas.

Ladovina Kitchen & Wine Bar

This casual Italian restaurant offers a charming, decorated interior (no sea view needed) and outdoor seating, all tucked away outside the city walls for a break from the tourist crowds.

Need to know

Fortress Gorazda

History buffs will love exploring abandoned Fortress Gorazda, a crumbling Austro-Hungarian structure perched on a scenic hill with breathtaking views of Kotor. Unlike many tourist sites, this forgotten gem offers free exploration and a sense of adventure. This Fortress is located a short drive from Storia di Pietra winery.
