The charming downtown scenery will make you want to come back, time and time again. No matter what time of year you visit Greenville, you will find a plethora of outdoor activities to do.

Falls Park at Reedy River

This is the crown jewel of the city. Located on Main Street in Downtown Greenville, you will find that Falls Park is the perfect place to relax for a picnic while enjoying the outstanding views of the waterfalls and the gardens. While you take in the sights of the famous, Liberty Bridge, the Grand Bohemian Hotel overlooks the park and would make for a picturesque weekend getaway!

Pretty Place at Camp Greenville

The name of the chapel says it all. If you want to experience a view like no other, this hidden gem is the spot to visit! Nestled on the eastern ridge of the Blue Ridge Mountains, you will experience breathtaking panoramic views of the upstate of South Carolina.

For an experience like no other, leave early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise at 3,200 feet- you will not be disappointed. The chapel is a 30-minute drive from downtown Greenville and you can also enjoy the wildlife and spectacular waterfalls of Jones Gap State Park. Be sure to check the website to make sure that the chapel is not closed for a private event. It is best to plan your trip during the week.

The Swamp Rabbit Trail

The 22-mile multi-use trail is a popular attraction for cyclists, runners and walkers. The trail spans from Greenville to the charming town of Travelers Rest.

Along the bustling trail, there are many stops that you can make. If you want homemade bread, pastries and local goods, be sure to visit Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery.

Hampton Station is a unique place to stop and try your hand at Axe throwing or have a cold one at the local brewery, Birds Fly South.

For a photo-op, take a stroll around the campus at Furman University. The oldest university in the state has immaculate gardens and an iconic bell tower at the edge of Swan Lake.

Lake Jocassee

This pristine lake is known for it’s clean and cold Appalachian Mountain River water. The lake is a great place to visit in the hot summer months, where you can breathe in the fresh mountain air and swim in the cool waters.

If you enjoy an underwater adventure, be sure to go scuba diving! You will be able to explore parts of a town that has been frozen in time when the valley was flooded.

On land, you will be able to view the dense foliage of the surrounding forest, see the wide range of wildlife and enjoy the towering waterfalls at the iconic Laurel Fork Falls. End your day at Devil’s Fork State Park where you will see the native Oconee Bells Wildflowers and enjoy a fantastic southern sunset!

Paris Mountain State Park

If you love to hike while enjoying the view, Paris Mountain is for you! The Lake Placid Trail is an easy hike that will take you around the lake where you will be able to enjoy the spillway and the impressive wildlife. Enjoy a swim in the summer or rent a pedal boat. In the cooler months, you can enjoy Music in the Woods, a fall festival that is enjoyable and relaxing.

Jianna is an Italian restaurant with a focus on handmade pasta. Their seafood dishes are also excellent.

UP on the Roof is a rooftop restaurant with stunning views of the city. They have a modern American menu with a focus on seasonal ingredients.

Juniper is a rooftop bar located eight floors above Greenville's Main Street atop the AC Hotel. They have a wide selection of cocktails, beer, and wine and they also have a menu of small plates to share.
