Paris: The City of Light is renowned for its elegant architecture and picturesque landscapes. From the iconic Eiffel Tower to the majestic Notre Dame, Paris exudes an air of romance and sophistication. Stroll along the Seine River or embark on a Bateau Mouche cruise to admire the city's stunning skyline. Explore manicured gardens like the Place de Vosges, Jardins de Tulleries or Jardins de Luxembourg.
London: Meanwhile, London's landscape is characterized by the winding River Thames and a plethora of historic landmarks. Visit the towering Big Ben, delve into the history of the Tower of London, or witness the grandeur of Buckingham Palace. Take a Uber river cruise starting in Tower Hill and ending in Chelsea or Battersea Park to see the whole city from the water for £3. Experience the city's green spaces, such as Hyde Park, Kensington Royal Gardens or even large forestry areas like Hampstead Heath, which overlooks the whole cityscape.
Vibe and Local Feel
Paris: Paris exudes an air of chic sophistication, with picturesque neighborhoods and a romantic ambiance. Whether wandering through the historic streets of Le Marais, one of oldest Jewish quarters in Europe where you can eat at Miznon and Florence Kahn bakery. In addition, you can explore the hidden gems of the Sainte-Anne district, which boasts Korean and Japanese culture, as each corner of Paris offers a unique experience.
London: London's vibe is diverse and dynamic, with neighborhoods ranging from posh and luxurious in West London to trendy and alternative in East London. Experience the warmth and politeness of Londoners as you delve into the city's subcultures and off-the-beaten-path attractions like going to Primrose Hill or visiting Shoreditch (see my East London guide) Each neighborhood has its own feel and culture.

Just a short train ride away from Paris lies the magnificent Palace of Versailles, where one can immerse themselves in the opulent grandeur of French royalty with a direct train from various points in Paris including Notre Dame.
Meanwhile, London's proximity to the countryside beckons with retreats like the Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire, nestled amidst lush greenery and offering quintessential English countryside experiences. For a truly rustic getaway, the Cotswolds present picturesque villages and rolling hills, while boutique stays like Daylesford or Somerset offer cozy accommodations, such as The Pig, where one can savor farm-to-table cuisine and unwind amidst serene surroundings. These excursions from the bustling cities provide a perfect balance, allowing travelers to indulge in the cultural riches of Paris and London before escaping to the tranquility of the countryside.
