Curator’s statement
If you’re looking for a quiet place to slow down and relax in Mexico, head about an hour north of Cabo San Lucas to unplug and unwind in Todos Santos. Part sleepy surf town, part artist’s enclave (think coastal desert Santa Fe vibes), Todos Santos boasts art galleries, quiet beaches and an exceptionally friendly and welcoming community. From couples to solo travelers to small groups, there’s something for everyone in search of a less-touristy getaway full of great food, eco-focused and wellness activities and outdoor adventure.

Places to eat & drink in Todos Santos, Mexico
Taller 17: This bakery and cafe almost always has a line, and for good reason. The coffee and kombucha are perfect and the fresh daily baked goods hit the spot every time.
Cafelix: Known for its cold brew and other coffee options, but the breakfast fare is also delicious and reasonable. I recommend the chilaquiles (among the best I’ve ever had).
La Confianza: A natural wine bar serving up tapas-style bites and often live music.
Hierbabuena: Farm-to-table from the surrounding organic farm. Such a unique experience and perfect for a special occasion or casual taste of local cuisine. Worth the short drive south of town to get there.
Tre Galline: Italian food in Mexico? Sí! Known for its excellent service and fresh Italian fare, Tre Galline is a favorite and frequent haunt of locals and tourists alike.
Oystera: Occupying an old sugar mill, Oystera is one of the most gorgeous places to eat in town. The menu features an expansive oyster selection, as well as other coastal Mexican fare, with just the right amount of wine to pair with everything. The inside is beautiful, but I recommend a seat on the back terrace where you’re surrounded by bougainvillea, succulents and olive trees that give a slight Italian-countryside vibe.
The Green Room: Great beachfront restaurant to catch a sunset and enjoy fresh seafood and cold margaritas. Reservations are a must!
Derek Sushi Bar: Known for its super fresh fish and gluten free options.
Jazamango: Farm-to-table option from celebrity chef Javier Plascencia. Highly-rated and on every Todos Santos list, every dish is amazing and don’t sleep on the cocktail list as well.
Dum: If you’re in the mood for a culinary adventure, Dum features a Mediterranean tasting menu that rotates with each new moon.
Benno: If you’re staying at Hotel San Cristobal or just popping in for some yoga, be sure to check out Benno for breakfast or dinner. Both are delicious!
