Things to do in Lake Garda, Italy

  • Exploring the lake by boat, even with your car, taking the ferry to quickly cross the lake is a fun and fast way to zig-zag from one side to the other of the lake.

  • Visit the antique villas such as Villa Bettoni and Isola di Garda.

  • Visit the town of Sirmione, with the beautiful medieval center, the castle and the great spa.

  • Visit Malcesine and its Scaliger castle.

  • Take the tramway to the top of Monte Baldo from Malcesine to enjoy amazing views, hike and admire the paragliders jumping off the mountain.

  • Windsurf or sail from Torbole, Garda, on the north side of the lake.

  • Visit an Olive Oil pressing farm such as - Visit Limone sul Garda village and its antique Lemon farm. From Limone, there is also a stunning bike and walk path on the lake.

  • Bike or hike along the lake. One of the most panoramic ones is called Busatte Tempesta (currently closed, hopefully it will reopen soon)

  • Visit the stunning Cascata del Varrone on the north side of the Lake close to Torbole.

  • Visit Tignale and the historic Sanctuary of Montecastello with a stunning view on the lake.

  • Visit Tremosine, a historic village with stunning views of the lake and several great seafood restaurants. Include a stop at Terrazza del Brivido and Strada della Forra (used in several movies, including a recent James Bond Movie)

  • Go wine tasting at one of the wineries in the area. Many are on the Verona side. Taste Lugan Wine produced in the area.

  • For a more adventurous excursion, try canyoning.

  • From Lake Garda, you can easily explore some of the major city and tourist attractions nearby such as Verona, Brescia, Trento
