Day 1: Begin the journey to Late Sakura Blooms
Morning: Take a scenic train or quick flight from Tokyo to Hakodate, Hokkaido’s historic southern port city. The journey north marks the beginning of your sakura-filled adventure.
Afternoon: Arrive in Hakodate and check into your hotel. Afternoon: Explore Motomachi District and its charming blend of Japanese and Western architecture, with cherry trees scattered throughout this historic area.

Day 3: Day trip to Matsumae Park
Take a day trip to Matsumae Park, home to over 10,000 cherry trees of various species, ensuring a stunning array of blooms through late April and early May. This park is also host to the annual Matsumae Cherry Blossom Festival, where traditional performances and local foods create a festive atmosphere.
Day 4: Transfer to Sapporo

Morning: Start your day with a visit to Sapporo’s Nijo Market, known for its fresh seafood and local delicacies. This bustling market is a great spot to pick up breakfast or try some of Hokkaido’s famous crab, sea urchin and salmon roe. It’s a lively cultural experience and perfect for sampling the flavors of Hokkaido before you head home.
Afternoon: Once you've satisfied your tummy, head to Maruyama Park for one last cherry blossom viewing. Situated next to Hokkaido Shrine, Maruyama Park becomes a popular hanami destination in late April, where hundreds of cherry trees bloom in a vibrant display of pink. The nearby shrine grounds offer a peaceful setting, contrasting beautifully with the celebratory hanami atmosphere under the blossoms.
Evening: Take a late afternoon or evening flight back to Tokyo, where you can continue your journey or conclude your Japan trip.
