Curator’s statement
Tokyo is unlike any place I’ve ever been. Compared to New York City, it has more people, more skyscrapers and currently much more character (never thought I’d say that.) The attention to detail in the food, fashion and customs is completely unmatched. You can have some of the best pizza in the world and also have a truly authentic cultural experience all in the same neighborhood.

Things to do in Tokyo
The best way to familiarize yourself with a city as big as Tokyo is to kick it off with a walking tour (and it’ll help you shake off the jet lag, too.)
Walk through Yoyogi Park to Meji Jingu Shrine.
Shibuya Sky for the best view.
Shopping along Omotesando for Soho vibes and stop off at Amore for the best vintage finds.
Shop Japanese brands at Ginza6 then stop and visit the rooftop at the Edition for an afternoon cocktail.
Shop at the outdoor garden mall.
Check out Kobikicho Square for the most authentic Japanese goods. Go to the basement floor.
Day trip
Day Trip to Yuen Bettei Daita Onsen: Take a short subway ride to this onsen in the idyllic neighborhood of Shimokitazawa. Have a luxurious day bathing in the rich mineral waters of the area. Enjoy some authentic bites in their salon (and the most amazing matcha latte I’ve ever had.)
Places to eat & drink in Tokyo
Use Tablelog for reservations. Google Maps/reviews aren’t as accurate.
If you’re a tuna connoisseur, indulge in an intimate Omakase at SushiYuu.
Take a break from Japanese food (if you really need it) at Pizza Bar on 38th.
Stop for Matcha ice cream.
Enjoy a Coffee Tasting at Coffee Mameya.
Make your own craft soda at Iyoshi Cola.
Menchirasi in Jingumae (the best neighborhood to wander) for the most delicious Udon.
Cocktails at GoldBar.
Eat Ramen like a local at Ganso Aburado.
