Day 1: Exploring enchanting Dubrovnik
Our adventure began in the beautiful city of Dubrovnik, known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic." We spent our first day exploring the historic Old Town, wandering through its narrow cobblestone streets and admiring the ancient architecture. Highlights included walking along the city walls for stunning views of the Adriatic Sea and visiting the Rector's Palace and Sponza Palace. In the evening, we enjoyed a delicious seafood dinner at a local restaurant, soaking in the ambiance of this charming city. It was crowded but worth every minute!
Day 2: Island escape to Lokrum & Cavtat
For our second day, we decided to escape to the nearby islands of Lokrum and Cavtat. We took a short ferry ride to Lokrum Island, where we explored its lush botanical gardens and medieval ruins. Afterward, we ventured to the picturesque village of Cavtat, where we wandered through its quaint streets and enjoyed a leisurely lunch by the sea, savoring the fresh seafood and tranquil atmosphere.
Day 3: Discovering the rich history of Split
On the third day of our Croatia adventure, we traveled to the vibrant city of Split. Here, we spent the day exploring the iconic Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and immersing ourselves in the rich history of the city. We also took the opportunity to visit nearby attractions such as the Cathedral of Saint Domnius and the Bell Tower of St. Domnius. In the evening, we dined at a local konoba, enjoying traditional Dalmatian cuisine.
Day 4: Nature retreat at Krka National Park
For a change of pace, we embarked on a day trip to Krka National Park, where we immersed ourselves in the beauty of nature. We hiked along the park's scenic trails, marveling at the breathtaking waterfalls and crystal-clear lakes. We also took a refreshing swim in the cool waters of the Skradinski Buk waterfall, enjoying the tranquility of this natural oasis.
Day 5: Cultural excursion to Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina
On the fifth day of our journey, we ventured beyond Croatia's borders to explore the historic city of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Here, we marveled at the iconic Stari Most bridge and wandered through the charming streets of the Old Town. We also had the opportunity to sample delicious Bosnian cuisine at a local restaurant before returning to Split in the evening.
Day 6: Immersing ourselves in Zagreb's charm
Our next destination was the capital city of Zagreb, where we spent the day exploring its historic landmarks and vibrant culture. We visited the Upper Town, home to iconic sights such as St. Mark's Church and the Lotrščak Tower, before exploring the bustling Dolac Market. Here, we sampled local delicacies and picked up some souvenirs to remember our time in Zagreb.
Day 7: Natural wonders of Plitvice Lakes National Park
No adventure in Croatia would be complete without a visit to Plitvice Lakes National Park. On the seventh day of our journey, we embarked on a day trip to this natural wonderland, where we marveled at the stunning waterfalls and emerald-green lakes. We spent the day hiking along the park's wooden boardwalks, taking in the sights and sounds of this pristine wilderness.
Day 8: Wine tasting in the Istrian countryside
For a taste of the good life, we headed to the picturesque region of Istria for a day of wine tasting. Here, we visited local vineyards and olive groves, sampling some of the finest wines and olive oils the region has to offer. We also took the opportunity to explore the charming villages of Motovun and Grožnjan, where we wandered through their narrow streets and admired the stunning views of the countryside.
Day 9: Coastal charms of Rovinj and Pula
On the ninth day of our journey, we explored the coastal towns of Rovinj and Pula, soaking in the sun and sea breeze. In Rovinj, we wandered through its colorful streets and visited the Church of St. Euphemia. While in Pula, we marveled at the well-preserved Roman amphitheater and strolled along the waterfront promenade.
Day 10: Island paradise in Hvar
For our next adventure, we set sail for the island of Hvar, known for its stunning beaches and vibrant nightlife. Here, we spent the day soaking up the sun on the island's pristine beaches and exploring its charming town. We also visited the Spanish fortress and enjoyed a leisurely dinner overlooking the picturesque harbor.
Day 11: Relaxation in Korčula
Our penultimate destination was the enchanting island of Korčula, where we spent the day relaxing and unwinding. We explored the island's medieval streets, visited the birthplace of Marco Polo and indulged in some olive oil tasting at a local grove. In the evening, we enjoyed a delicious seafood dinner by the sea, savoring the flavors of the Adriatic.
Day 12: Farewell to Croatia in Zagreb
As our journey came to an end, we returned to Zagreb for one final day of exploration. Here, we visited the quirky Museum of Broken Relationships and enjoyed one last Croatian meal at a local restaurant. Reflecting on our time in Croatia, we felt grateful for the memories we had made and the experiences we had shared. And as we boarded our flight home, we knew that Croatia would always hold a special place in our hearts.

Day 9: Explore Rovinj and Pula's coastal charms. Enjoy fresh seafood at Restaurant Meneghetti, boasting a picturesque countryside location.
Day 10: Bask in Hvar's island paradise. Delight in Mediterranean cuisine at Dalmatino, offering panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea.
