Paris is my favorite city in the world, hands down! It was the first international city I ever visited, and let’s just say — the travel bug caught me hard. I’ve been to Paris six times (and trust me, that still isn’t enough), and I’m dreaming of moving there next year.

Things to do in Paris

  • The absolute best way to soak up Paris is by walking — everywhere. Forget rushing from one tourist spot to the next — just wander through the streets and let the city reveal itself. Some of my favorite neighborhoods to explore on foot are Le Marais and Montmartre.

  • Le Marais is a blend of old-world charm and trendy vibes, with cobblestone streets, hidden courtyards and adorable cafés at every turn. Meanwhile, Montmartre offers that quintessential Parisian feeling. Think narrow streets, historic charm and sweeping views of the city from the top of Sacré-Cœur Basilica. Both areas are perfect for getting lost in, so grab a coffee or a drink, take your time and see where the streets take you.

  • Sure, you can marvel at the Eiffel Tower from various angles, but the absolute best way to experience it is with a picnic on the great lawn that overlooks it. Picture this: a bottle of wine, some cheese, a fresh baguette and a spot on the lush grass with the iconic tower standing tall in front of you. It’s the ultimate Parisian moment.

  • If you're an art lover (or even if you're not!), a visit to the Musée d'Orsay and Musée de l'Orangerie is an absolute must. They are a short distance from each other. Both are equally breathtaking but far less crowded than the Louvre, making for a more enjoyable visit.

  • If you're in Paris and love fashion, don’t miss the Dior exhibit — it’s a dream come true for fashion enthusiasts. The exhibit showcases the legacy of the iconic brand, filled with stunning couture pieces, archival treasures and glimpses into Dior’s creative vision. With all the designer stores nearby, it’s the perfect spot for some serious window shopping.

  • Paris has the best Flea Markets! Usually held on Saturdays and Sundays. These markets are a treasure trove of unique finds, from vintage clothes and antique furniture to quirky souvenirs you won't find anywhere else. I highly recommend Marché aux Puces de St-Ouen.

  • Atelier des Lumières for an immersive art experience. You know that epic Monet interactive art experience that flooded everyone’s Instagram a few years ago? Well, this is where it all started. It's a super cool space where they project famous art on the walls, floors and ceilings, so you can literally step into the paintings.

  • It’s a little touristy, but honestly, a boat ride on the Seine is a must. There’s just no better way to see Paris at night.

  • Citypharma for all your French beauty essentials!

Day trips:

  • If you’re visiting in the spring or summer, a trip to Monet’s Gardens in Giverny is an absolute must. Just a 90-minute train ride from Paris, the gardens are nothing short of exquisite. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into one of Monet’s iconic paintings, surrounded by vibrant flowers, tranquil water lilies and that perfect French countryside charm. It’s a peaceful escape from the city and a dreamy experience that’s totally worth the short journey. Trust me, it’s the kind of beauty that sticks with you long after you leave!

Places to eat & drink in Paris

  • The food scene in Paris can be a bit overwhelming with so many good options! I highly recommend doing a food tour (or two!) while visiting. It is a good way to knock out the best of the best, while getting to see a neighborhood that you might not have otherwise visited.

  • The croissants at La Maison d'Isabelle. Nothing compares. They are pure heaven!

  • Cafes are on every corner in Paris. Stop for a coffee or drink and enjoy some of the best people watching.

  • L’as du Falafel for falafel is my first stop on any trip to Paris. Fun fact- It is Lenny Kravitz's favorite falafel (per the sign on the window).

  • Chez Alain Miam Miam for the most delicious sandwiches! There will be a line if you go around lunch time, so try to go in the off hours. But it's worth the wait!

  • Caractère de Cochon for the best jambon beurre in Paris (it is also right down the street from Chez Alain Miam Miam). Grab a sandwich to go and eat it on a bench at Place des Vosges.

  • Bistro Paul Bert, Steak + Frites. Enough said!

  • No stop in Paris is complete without macaroons from Laduree. They might be overpriced but still the best in my opinion.

  • Hot Chocolate at Carette or Angelina.

  • Chez Janou for the most divine chocolate mousse you will ever have.
