Curator’s statement

Anguilla is a very special place that keeps my family coming back year after year. Anguilla is known for its laid back vibe, amazing beaches, and friendly people. A quick ferry ride from St. Maarten or a direct flight from Miami, Anguilla feels worlds away. You won't find high rises here and sometimes the only traffic is from goats crossing the street.

Things to do in Anguilla

A boat marina during sunset

Relax - Anguilla is low key by nature. Even with three kids in tow, we are often able to really unplug here and lean into the quiet beaches and relaxed vibe.

Water park - Aurora Anguilla recently opened their on site waterpark which will be a huge hit with kids (and adults)! The water park includes a zero-entry swimming pool, lazy river, three water slides, and a splash pad. This is an included amenity for hotel guests and non hotel guests are able to purchase day passes.

Beach Hop - Anguilla has 33 beaches to explore and all offer something different. Be sure to check out Meads Bay, Shoal Bay East, Rendezvous Bay, and Maundays Bay.

Boating - Take a boat ride to explore the coastline and some of Anguilla's offshore islands including Sandy Island, Pricky Pear, and Scilly Cay. Would recommend Calypso for a day of exploring and snorkeling.

Moke - rent a moke for a fun way to explore the island and everything it has to offer.

Fishing - 4ShoreFishing provides kid-friendly, land based fishing excursions around the island.

Places to eat & drink in Anguilla

A beach bar during daytime

Straw Hat - great spot on Meads Bay beach with terrific views open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Kids menu, don't miss the "bubble gum smoothie," my boys rave about it.

Blanchards Beach Shack - casual but fun toes in the sand beach restaurant. Great food for lunch or dinner at a reasonable cost. Good spot for kids. For a more upscale dinner, try Blanchards right next door.

Sharkeys
- locals favorite and popular with tourists. Make reservations in advance. No official kids menu but can prepare basics like chicken tenders.

Sunset Lounge - perfect spot to grab a drink and watch the sunset at the Four Seasons. Stay for wonderful sushi and Asian inspired plates. Has live music a few nights per week. After dinner, you can purchase a smores kit and roast on the firepits right next to the restaurant.

Sunshine Shack - fun spot for a cold drink and BBQ lunch on Rendezvous Bay.

Elvis Beach Bar - lively spot with hammocks and different games for kids such as connect four and ring toss.
