Things to do in Edinburgh
When to travel: the best time to travel is during the shoulder season between September and November! Also, albeit it is a bit full of people visiting the city, going through December to experience the Christmas markets is a must.
Where to stay: my popular pick for Edinburgh is The W Hotel Edinburgh. One of the city's most architecturally gorgeous hotels, the W offers some fantastic perks, and it’s considered my first choice when visiting the city. Conveniently nestled in the heart of Edinburgh, the W Hotel offers a perfect base for strolls around the old town and immersive explorations of the city’s rich history. Booking with a Fora Advisor will guarantee additional perks like early check-in/late check-out, 100 GBP of hotel credit, breakfast every day and many other surprises.
What to do: Edinburgh, a city that caters to all interests, is a haven for history buffs and food enthusiasts alike. Whether you're exploring the iconic castle or indulging in modern Scottish cuisine, there's something for everyone in this vibrant city. Here is my list of must-visit spots in the city:
Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle
West End and Multrees Walk for shopping
Edinburgh Gin for some of the best gin and tonics
Victoria Street, The Elephant House, West Bow and Greyfriars Kirkyard for the Harry Potter enthusiasts
Climb to Arthur’s Seat for some exercise with spectacular views
Taste some delicious Scotch at the Scotch Whiskey Experience
See a show at the Festival Theater
Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens
Visit the Scottish National Gallery
Places to eat & drink in Edinburgh
Where to eat and play: Edinburgh surprises you with its fantastic food and bar scene! Here are a few recommendations:
Number One at the Balmoral
Heron
Lannan Bakery
Sushi Samba at the W Hotel
The W Lounge for some sunset drinks
