I discovered my passion for cruising back in 2022 when we took our first cruise — a 7-night Mediterranean voyage. Cruising had never crossed our minds. The idea of vacationing on a ship did not really appeal to us. We didn't want to be confined to a room or pretend to be someone we weren't, and we certainly didn't want to dress up every night. It was supposed to be a vacation, wasn't it? Our first cruise was the complete opposite of what we thought a cruise would be. It was fun, full of energy, the average age was definitely not 80 and I didn't have to wear a dress every night, as I thought. Those seven days on board were a real eye-opener, and it is fair to say that we definitely caught what is often referred to as "the cruising bug".
