I double down as travel journalist and photographer and have worked in the magazine world for over five years. I am always on the hunt for living the local life when travelling and find notes, receipts and scribbled napkins with recommendations from the sommelier of a restaurant I've been or a shop owner in a teeny tiny store I popped into. Admittedly, I dictate a lot of my travel by where I want to eat – from the small plates wine bar just out of the city or the hotel bar that makes the freshest Bellini. I appreciate a mix of high-brow and low-brow, mom-and-pop to smart and established. But really, I like no-frills, accessible and affordable. Feeling like you can fit in anywhere especially when it doesn't break that bank.
