I'm a fearless solo traveler and encourage everyone I know to step out of their comfort zone and do the same. What I tell them is: "If not now, when?"
I like to strike a balance between modest luxury and budget-friendly where I can. Splurge on some things, but stay conservative on others.
On my trips, I like to sprinkle in some day tours and excursions to unique sites I might have not been able to reach on my own. Other days I spent wandering, getting lost and shopping (always. shopping.) In the evenings, I like to take myself out for dinner and try to chat up any locals or other new friends at the bars in town. You never know who you'll meet!
