Travel style

I consider life a journey and choose to enrich mine through travel, discovering new cultures, landscapes and cuisines. Meeting new people and learning about different ways of living brings me joy, highlights the vastness of the world and educates me in a way that nothing else can. Never a fan of the routine or the mundane, getting away is my opportunity to embrace a new perspective and savor the adventure that lies ahead. While traveling, I love uncovering boutique properties, hidden gems and neighborhood restaurants, all while getting to know the locals and immersing myself in their culture. I adore traveling with my family and also cherish alone time with my husband. Some days you can find me feasting at a Michelin-starred restaurant; on others, a hole-in-the-wall with amazing food. Whether it's relaxing beach time, a rigorous five-mile hike in the mountains, or a zipline through the jungles of Central America, I try to be creative in my itinerary design, including equal amounts of relaxation and adventure. Let this passionate planner help you craft your next amazing journey, filled with exciting memories and unforgettable moments.

Laurie's reviews

Laurie was so easy to work with! We changed hotels a few times and she was able to find exactly what we wanted. She is super organized and mapped out our trip for us. Thank you, Laurie!!

Laurie was so helpful in locating the perfect hotel for me that was central, highly rated and within my budget. I'm not sure I could have found a better place to stay on this visit!

Excellent Service, reminded & checked the entire process from booking to coming home. Will absolutely use and refer her services again.

First of all, thanks to Laurie from Crafted Travels for arranging our family vacation to Cancun. Laurie was on point throughout the process with suggestions on hotels and then got us the best possible pricing. She also went out of her way to arrange for us to have early check-in, late check-out and even left us a welcome gift in our room. I wouldn't hesitate to go to Laurie for our future travel plans - an absolute pleasure to do business with!

As far as the hotel itself, the Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach is a very nice, albeit somewhat dated property. It seems they are beginning to renovate parts of the property. Most notably, the Steakhouse, Italian and Teppanyaki restaurants which reside in a swanky, newer section of the property. The aforementioned Steakhouse was the highlight of the culinary portion of our trip. We had seemingly endless amounts of delicious food coming to us from our very attentive waiter, Jorge. The Teppanyaki was nice as well, with predictable yet unspectacular food. However, our chef put on a nice show for those at our table. The Italian restaurant was just OK for me - nothing special. The buffet was decent for breakfast but really a last resort for food when we couldn't get to the other places on the property. There is a coffee house that serves, you guessed it, all types of coffee along with pastries and delicious ice cream.

As for activities, I felt the resort was lacking a bit. There was nightly entertainment but it fell short of what we've seen at other all-inclusives. There is also a game room on property that has billiards, ping-pong, foosball and video games. The equipment here really showed its age and could use an upgrade.

The pool and small beach areas were very nice. We've been to a number of places in Mexico and I'd have to say this was the cleanest beach (very little seaweed) with beautiful turquoise waters. The pool is expansive and warm. As is typical at many places, many of the pool and beach loungers have towels draped over them at the crack of dawn, but it wasn't terribly difficult to find a place to sit. Service at the pool and beach areas were a little slow but not awful. Our room was a friends and family suite - basically two connected rooms. The rooms were large and the views were great. Every room on this property has an ocean view. Again, it's worth mentioning that the rooms could use some refreshing. This is not an inexpensive hotel, so I'd expect something that looks and feels more upscale.

Finally, I would mention that the staff at the property was exceptional. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. The staff at all the restaurants delivered high quality service - same goes for the front desk and other parts of the property.
